Virus Spikes In Key Swing States, Creating Fresh Challengers For Polling Places | Talking Points Memo

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — A surge in coronavirus cases across the country, including in key presidential battleground states, is creating mounting health and logistical concerns for voters, poll workers and political parties ahead of Election Day.

If people want to understand the Republican mindset, here it is.

Then I read her Twitter handle.

She voted for pussygraber in 2016 AFTER being diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer and only changed her mind because of her insurance company. This country is full of selfish empathy-deficient folks like this.

“Republicans are counting on a huge election day turn out”
They were also counting on Covid-19 being gone by Easter. I wouldn’t put too much faith in Republican Prognostications.

Like clapping for Tinker Bell. It’s of a piece with all the talk about “enthusiasm” and “spirit” you hear from Trump when he thinks he’s losing and has no rational reason to feel optimistic. Covid hasn’t just shown Trump’s sociopathic incompetence; it’s created what’s sometimes called a “permission structure” for people to say yeah I’m conservative but this guy’s got to go. In 2016 the election was pretty damn close in the last days. It’s not now and it looks like it’s going to stay that way. Whatever happens is pretty much locked in at this point.

When Trump loses, people will be surprised at the difference in his behavior.

Biden’s Team will descend on the WH and Government in General. A new President doesn’t just swear the oath and start to work. There is background activity and no POTUS has left a bigger mess than Trump.

In addition, the types and numbers of competent people replacing sycophants and babysitters will be mind-blowing.

By necessity, there will be actual News for the American Public to receive and absorb and whatever the Orange Menace will try to do will, by necessity, reveal even more of his infantile and near-psychotic character and its contrast between an adult POTUS and Trump.

In full view of the American People.

Fauci’s fault.
Obama’s fault.
Hillary’s fault.

I can tell you this:

My town clerk has written that, if people come to the polls with no masks, they are to be allowed to enter, no questions asked. It’s written specifically into the rules, apparently. And a reminder: this is Wisconsin. 32% positivity rate or pretty darned close.

The poll workers MUST wear masks, but the voters don’t have to.

One thing for sure if the pollsters are wrong on this one, they will become nonexistent in future elections.

Pollsters couldn’t predict wholesale rejection of millions of cast ballots due to last-minute judicial activism.

Biden will win the popular vote, and by a larger margin than Hilary. This is why the GOP is throwing EVERYTHING at stealing one or two swing states by the thinnest margin necessary and by any means necessary so they can declare victory and run the Gore V. Bush playbook all over again.

PA, MI, and FL. The rest of the country is now irrelevant (again). Trump is going to start screaming victory at 11 PM Tuesday night, and he won’t let up.

Rasmussen continues to report 30% of Black likely voters supporting Trumpp.

I have to assume that they are including in that category people who wear blackface.

Doesn’t matter. He doesn’t care about them and doesn’t even like them – as long as they got their ballots in with his name marked they can drop dead immediately and he’ll be fine with it.

While I know what you mean about feeling irrelevant, Biden can’t win without California so I don’t feel irrelevant.

The shortsighted reality in trying to stop votes from being counted is that it benefits Trump, maybe, but not necessarily local elections or ballot measures. A voter that crossed over to Biden from Trump is still likely to vote red further down the ballot, and conservatively on ballot measures.

Michigan has been +7 to +8 for Biden for the last two months. It’s been looking like less of a swing state than Wisconsin or Nevada. Also Biden is ahead in NC, AZ, GA and two of those one-vote special districts. Tied in OH, and down by two in IA and TX. There are a lot of paths for him to cross 270 there.

Yes…but they haven’t. That’s their whole “Death Star” super duper strategy. Everyone vote on election day.

So killing them off BEFORE their ballots are cast seems…not a great strategy.
