Extreme vaccine skepticism got a showing at the Supreme Court on Friday.
Justices were hearing arguments in two cases challenging Biden administration COVID-19 directives: one vaccinate-or-test mandate on large, private-sector employers, and a vaccine mandate on health-care facility employees.
Alito is really playing fast and loose with words. OSHA’s mandate applies to all employees. It just so happens that a significant portion of the population has already complied. It’s like saying speed limits only regulate those people who drive at excessive rates of speed.
I don’t see how they make clear what is so objectionable about this vaccine, when vaccines have been a commonplace in this culture for decades. As someone pointed out, the fix is in, i guess, the only question being how they will justify their decision.
so, let me get this straight… the government can’t make anyone do anything, but corporations shall not be hindered in their decision making for their employees in service of profit… got it? good.
Can the government require seatbelts or is that too “controlling”? What about that people working on high scaffolds have tethers? That construction workers wear hard hats? That’s clearly only to protect the worker, not others.
And what about bans on commercial pilots ingesting tons of hallucigens?
