“The U.S. is allocating 5.1 million doses of Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine and 6 million doses of Moderna’s shot for distribution through this week.”

They are holding back the second dose and a 500k “emergency” supply. So, there’s enough for 5 million arms right this minute:

Vaccinations in the U.S. began Dec. 14 with health-care workers, and so far 792,142 doses have been administered , according to a state-by-state tally by Bloomberg.

At this rate, it will take 5 years!

Also, there is an option with Moderna for an additional 400 million (first in line) and an option with Pfizer for another 400 Million (when our turn comes up).

Look at the AstraZeneca/Oxford jab too - it’s an older technology.
