It doesn’t just increase the population. It also makes it harder for women to get educations and pursue well-paying jobs and careers, and it locks families in poverty, which also reduces the options for the presumably male (in a proper Xtian family) wrt work.
These hairless monkeys breed like gellibajas! Hump, hump, hump! It won’t be long before they burn up their planet and do themselves in. A couple blegorfs of Rigelforming, and it’s all ours. With oceans at maximum volume, too.
What a surprise that a white, wealthy kid, growing up in South Africa in the Apartheid years of the National Party, might turn out to be a white racist and bigot? Who might want to encourage and spread his hate over a wide platform like “Twitler?” Not a surprise to me.
EVs are just another means to continue BAU behavior and consumption of resources and they will not reduce our emissions one iota. You still have the massive airline and shipping industry plus all manner of plastic. China and other countries are still using coal-fired energy and Australia is shipping the coal.
Earth will solve the population crisis without our help now that we’ve decided to do nothing about Climate Change. CO2 is currently @ 424 ppm and rising quickly.
I often point out to younger people that China doesn’t have better workers than we do. They have a massive overpopulation problem that makes workers desperate to do jobs at tiny wages in order to just keep alive. Plus they have the Fantasy Republican Authoritarian government where there are no environmental regulations enforced, structural gender inequality, low wages, no workers rights, and government control of the media. It’s like Russia, but without the guns and vodka.
I don’t mind that, so much as all the animals and biomes that we’ll kill along with us.
Personally, I’d like tigers to inherit the earth, not cockroaches.
He was a curious sort of guy, musically speaking. He did a lot of work with Phil Spector in the early years of Rock and Roll. He wasn’t a very good musician or singer but he obviously knew what he was doing on the business side of things. His pairing with Cher worked really well.
My daughter has reached the age where she finds herself complaining about “kids today!” When I catch her doing this, I offer up a simple “Okay Boomlette…” - earns me a very strong eye roll every time!
The top 5% are killing the rest of us, that’s for sure. I didn’t really learn anything Climate Change until the late 80s and 90s. My dad had mentioned it to me maybe in the 70s and the idea terrified me but I remember it being just a remote possibility back then. Nobody really started talking about it in a big way until the early 90s. That’s when I seriously started paying attention and could tell from my annual trips back and forth to Colorado that things were really heating up fast. The high county in Colorado was warming up quickly.
