Upholding Kacsmaryk’s Decision Would Invite Challenges To Vaccines, Contraception

U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s ruling staying the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of abortion drug mifepristone will almost certainly end up at the Supreme Court in some form.

Challenging vaccines and contraception is viewed as a feature by Republicans.

You know, in the good old days bloodletting, trepanning and leeches were good enough for our ancestors. All this new technology is the work of Satan.*

*Overheard in a Walmart.

Hell, judge shop hard enough and some GOP loon will find a jurist to ban the sale of insulin, since diabetics are Satan’s spawn you know.

The end game here appears to be go back to pre-Enlightenment thinking. Science is for heathens and the Wokerati.

Let’s check in and see what kind of medical care they had in 18th century America, shall we? It’s stunning, that these so-called judges can issue such flimsy rulings on cases in which the plaintiffs have no standing! This is not law, this is the beginnings of Dominionism. Not in my lifetime.

Why was the person you over heard at Walmart in the first place considering that store is chock full of Satanist modern stuff what’s based on that evil … called … science. Like in th’ food section they git pasturized milk!!! And alla th’ food is csrefully paxkages so’s it don’t, you know, … spoil from. GERMS!!!
If thst person’s gonna be an idiot they should at least try to be consistent in their idiocy.

quackery: noun: dishonest practices and claims to have special knowledge and skill in some field, typically medicine.

That’s the thing that is the main advantage of idiocy. It requires no consistency.

Say the 5th Circuit and SCOTUS uphold this. It will be extremely unpopular, acting as a multiplier of the outraged response to Dobbs. And who can doubt that Kacsmaryk, or some other fanatic in black robes, will put a bullseye on contraception? Even if higher courts reject it, there will be other outrages, like the biz in Tennessee, or another horrible massacre of children.
What’s striking at this moment is that even as the GOP sees a string of its long-held wishes come true, their chances of winning national elections heads south correspondingly. This means that their schemes to steal, corrupt, or otherwise eliminate free and fair elections become that much more important. They’re ratcheting themselves into a position where their plans to overthrow constitutional government are turning into existential necessities. Lookin’ like it’s gonna get very hairy over the next while.

I am a doctor who seeks to cancel the FDA’s approval of insulin. My standing derives from the fact that insulin artificially keeps millions of people alive, and those not-dead people consume medical resources that would help my cancer patients survive their disease. Even though I do not prescribe insulin and have never been asked to do so, I fear that diabetic patients will overwhelm my oncology practice, forcing me to choose between treating diabetic and non-diabetic patients. Also, studies indicate that many diabetics come to regret their decision to take insulin, so the public harm caused by insulin is substantial enough to outweigh any value in the FDA’s approval of the drug.

Perhaps they consider tying the legal system into knots with wacky judicial rulings a feature rather than a curse?

Hard to follow the thinking of death-wishing terrorist cults.

Ask the “doctor” if they got MMR, polio, TB, and Smallpox vaccines as a kid do they could attend school. And I for one am glad I did not have that “doctor” in my medical school lectures.

Next up: ban all medication for mental health. According to a well known “religious” organization, depression, bipolar, autism, all of it, is the result of alien ghost parasites sent from another planet. The only way to treat these parasites is to buy this “religion’s” courses and believe real hard. If you’re not cured, you haven’t believed hard enough and you need to buy more courses. Shockingly, this “religion” has lots and lots of money to pursue such claims med by med and likely will if Kacsmaryk stands.

This Kacsmaryk ruling is another manifestation of Steve Bannon’s call to dismantle the administrative state.

The unintended consequence of Dobbs continue to reverberate. For example, would any serious medical school student or budding scientist really consider attending medical school or pursuing a scientific education at a school in Texas?

All off this is going to get worse as the traitors rot out this country as if it had been plunged into sulfuric acid.
