Unsealed Manafort Docs Shed New Light On Sharing Of 2016 Data With Alleged GRU Officer | Talking Points Memo

The evidence that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had suggesting that Paul Manafort was sharing polling with a shady figure with links to Russian intelligence was more extensive than previously known, as revealed by documents unsealed Monday in Manafort’s case.

Funny how January 6th kind of temporarily distracted us from the earlier T**** Treason Team.

Back at it, Mr. Garland.

Kilimnik, the same guy as on the Sanctions List.

One question is how much Manafort was doing to benefit himself and how much he was doing to benefit the Orange Menace. However, we know Manafort had sufficient blackmail material to get a pardon out of Mar-a-Lardo.

The fact that this guy wasn’t in jail before the 2016 election speaks to the complete failure of our judicial system to take white collar crime seriously. Quick and easy wins, that’s the American way for the 21st century, god forbid we put in the work to tackle the serious issues plaguing our society.

So all I take away from this is that KGB/GRU/Russian Mafia tradecraft beat the FBI. We should be at least a little worried by this, right?

If I didn’t know better, I might think this is exactly the kind of leverage Putin could hold over Trump to force him to acquiesce to his every demand.

It may not matter now as far as public opinion goes, but I suspect it would have mattered had we known all of this in 2017 and 2018. Manafort’s pardon should be voided in my opinion. At the least, strongly contested in federal court. To me, it’s a dirty pardon because it’s all about self-preservation. Trump sold us out to Russia.

So at least two members of the Trump gang knew how to cover up their crimes. Note to Rudy - that’s how you do it.

Maybe it’s because I once had a very high-level security clearance.
Maybe it’s because I’m a solid citizen, but I’d be scared shitless to be seen in the same room with a Russian GRU agent. I sure as hell wouldn’t have his phone number on my phone or be seen handing him even the daily newspaper.
I suspect rump gave them an implied confidence of never getting in trouble.

There must be some crime that was not pardoned so this asshat can be arrested, tried again and thrown in prison for the rest of his life.

“Manafort also lied to the government about his sharing of internal campaign data with [GRU operative] Kilimnick…However, evidence (including email communication and testimonial evidence) demonstrates that Manafort authorized the dissemination of this specific information.”

This is the money quote.

Not at all. They got caught, that’s why it’s all in reports.

It’s the people you don’t catch that you have to worry about.

Orange Co CA is/was known as the white collar capitol of the US.
They have one atty prosecuting it. The rest go after pot possession.

Yes. Manafort took the campaign manager job for free and, moreover, owed Deripaska -not the sort of man you want to be indebted to -huge sums of money. From there, everything falls into place.

All of this treachery cost us some of our best Russia hunters, Peter Strozak in particular, their jobs. Another gift Trump gave to Putin.
