Biden attacks news outlets for ‘lies of conspiracy and malice’ (msn.com)
Speaking at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, Biden referred to “truth buried by lies,” in an apparent reference to false conspiracy theories that his 2020 election win was the result of a massive voter fraud.
“Lies told for profit and power. Lies of conspiracy and malice repeated over and over again designed to generate a cycle of anger and hate and even violence,” Biden said.
That cycle, Biden added, has emboldened local jurisdictions to ban books, and “the rule of law and our rights and freedoms to be stripped away.”
Zeroing in on what he characterized as “an extreme press,” Biden at the same time joked that if he called Fox News “honest, fair and truthful then I can be sued for defamation.”
Why would Huskers ever have made the OK sign, which could be interpreted as support for the Oklahoma Sooners?
Interesting way to rule, er govern…my way or you get nothing!!
Stitt indicates vetoes will continue until school choice, tax cuts pass | Oklahoma | thecentersquare.com
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt indicated Friday that he would continue vetoing unrelated bills until the House and Senate agree on school choice and tax cuts.
Stitt vetoed 20 unrelated Senate bills this week, all with the same message.
“Until we get tax cuts, until we get parent choice done, we are not going to do all this other stuff for lobbyists and special interest groups,” Stitt said at his weekly news conference. “Let’s get those things done and then we will be happy to talk about some other things in the budget.”
Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat said after Thursday’s vote, the chamber will not be bullied.
“We are being bullied again by the executive branch that is vetoing bills with a veto message that simply says, 'any senator that does go in line and get in line with his plan verbatim will have their bills vetoed, not because the merit or lack thereof on that bill, but because of petty disagreements in trying to bully this body into a position,” Treat said. “We will not be bullied.”’
No mention of tfg using it repeatedly?
C’mon.
'ambiguous signs ’
It’s not an ambiguous sign -in America, this has been the OK sign as long as I can remember and it’s a damn shame the right has appropriated it. Now you can’t flash that if someone asks about something or you’re checking the crew, and during 2016 and after I stopped using the thumbs up.
Republicans ruin everything.
In the OK lege Republicans control both chambers, by a lot. Gov. Stitt is flexing here for what reason?
How many words, signals, movements, or what ever are we suppose to know to keep from being associated with someone or some group we don’t know about?
If I say fuck you I do not want to have sex with you.
And this is what happens when a bunch of worthless and useless 4chan trolls arbitrarily choose a hand sign to make a thing out of just to watch it go viral.
Mr Husker is also noticeably thinner and with longer legs. I’m sure some will complain about this, too.
How did something as benign and commonplace as the “OK” hand gesture come to assume such sinister undertones? And what does the University of Nebraska’s willingness to change its mascot say about the ways in which ambiguous signs and symbols can take on a life of their own?
… … … … … … …
Well… what about the right wing hijacking an inoffensive word like “woke” and making it an epithet about anything the left does, thinks or says?
And they make it all the more offensive by using it in ways one would not normally use it in its original meaning.

From Burnin’ and lootin’
by Bob Marley (partial lyrics)
This morning I woke up in a curfew
O God, I was a prisoner too, yeah!
Could not recognize the faces standing over me
They were all dressed in uniforms of brutality, eh!
Governance by hostage taking is the norm now with Republicans. Also refer to the Republican House on the debt ceiling.
no mention of zina bash at the kavanaugh hearings? that’s when a lot of people first learned this was even a thing.
The plausible deniability was the entire point. "Oh, those dumb libs think that “OK " means “White Power”? Ha ha ha ha ha, let’s do “White Power” and troll the libs!” And this dumb article doesn’t even manage to mention that the “OK” sign reads as “WP” in racist trollspeak.
I feel your pain, but as long as I have my middle finger, I’ll survive in today’s America. They’ll never take that away from us.
Yes. As *rascal_crone& noted, they ruin everything. The right wing noise machine has debased so many perfectly good words, institutions, and concepts. It’s a wonder Americans can even communicate anymore. Actually, news reports indicate we don’t. Unless it’s with a rain of bullets.
Good for Nebraska. I’m personally in a quandary because in college I spent a year in Australia, where the “thumbs up” sign is often the equivalent of a middle finger in the US … so I spent most of my life making the “OK” sign where most Americans would give a “thumbs up” to something (the OK sign in scuba diving also means, well, “I’m OK” - “thumbs up” means “let’s ascend to the surface”). Fucking Nazis ruin everything.
RFK lambastes ABC News - TheBlaze
Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. blasted ABC News, accusing the media giant of perpetrating a “hatchet job,” committing defamation, and disseminating “unsheathed Pharma propaganda.”
Kennedy’s comments came after ABC News admitted to editing content out of an interview and accused the presidential candidate of making false claims about vaccines.
Linsey Davis of ABC News, who had interviewed Kennedy, said in a note to viewers that “Kennedy made false claims about the COVID-19 vaccines” and “misleading claims” concerning vaccination and autism. “We’ve used our editorial judgement,” to not include “extended portions of that exchange in our interview.”
“47 USC 315 makes it illegal for TV networks to censor
Presidential candidates but Thursday, ABC showed its contempt for the law, democracy, and its audience by cutting most of the content of my interview with host Linsey Davis leaving only cherry-picked snippets and a defamatory disclaimer,” Kennedy claimed.
Remember ETTD? Originally it was “everything trump touches dies” Now it’s “everything they touch dies”
The University of Nebraska is also going to take the “N” off their football helmets because nowledge is associated with being woke.
