Everything Trump touches withers, even folks overseas. “Just please leave me alone” is a sentiment I understand very, very well, my Ukrainian friends.
We benefit from regional stability there. It’s not pure charity, and they didn’t cause this.
Of course Zelensky wants no part of this. It’s nothing but a rock and a hard place for him. If he does Trump’s bidding he’s double screwed if Trump loses in 2020. If he tells Trump to jump in lake he’s screwed for now. So hell no he wants no part of it. I’ll bet his advisors tell him there’s a better than 50% chance Trump will lose in 2020 and take up the position of worst president ever. International leaders that kissed his ass will pay for that ( talking to you Aussie PM ). Zelensky’s best bet is to play against Trump or not play at all. Looks like he’s going to duck out.
But they are clearly slacking as Netflix and Obama didn’t get tied in.
