he’s supposed to be back in work on Monday morning - this [has] sort of stalled since he went offline, nobody wants to take responsibility (or the subsequent blame…) for anything so it’s a bit of a vacuum… not that it’s likely to improve when he’s back, he’s totally unsuited to “big decisions”.
If the plan was to make money on his tell-all, Bolton f’ed up royally. The MAGA morans can’t read, the old school Repubs have lost the party, and he’s already burned any Dems. who might have been inclined to trust what he had to say. He could try to write the unvarnished truth and trash Trump in the process, but truth will have little impact on the November election, so…meh. In short, there is no one to buy his book or pay big money to hear him speak. It really is a spectacular miscalculation for someone who professes to be a foreign policy intrigue, strategic thinker type. No wonder the US keeps f*ing up and bumbling into endless wars.
There is. I predict the book will pander to that demographic by working to help us “understand” how hard Bolton worked to Make America Great Again - even with Current Occupant not cooperating as much as he had hoped. You’d be surprised at how many of your countrymen and women hunger and thirst after bullshit right-wing hawkish diatribes.
A friend’s brother in UK, a successful businessman there, succumbed to Covid a few weeks ago following his participation in a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence where he was invited by Boris.
At least Boris Johnson appears to have learned something, after being so ill from COVID. He is no longer urging people to ignore safety precautions. That is something. Trump is incapable of learning.
I get a laugh a couple of times a day from a “promotional spot” run on the Boston NPR station I listen to, for the “Boston Speaker Series” featuring inter alia Theresa May and John Bolton…sometime this summer. I can’t understand why they don’t pull the ad.
