So much for ā€˜the summer heat will eradicate the virus’, huh?!?!?

But this will all get swept under the rug has Trump takes the victory lap for the drop in UE numbers and increased new jobs.

Has Melania started packing yet?

She should get a head start.

What constitutes ā€˜new jobs’? It seems to me like it is old jobs that were there before. As the lockdown lifts, more jobs but more infections. Then it’s back to square one or worse because government funds have been halted.

Any bets on how many reporters ask him about the 50,000 number and he just ignores them on it? Or calls it fake news? Or insists the numbers are on the decline and it’ll all be gone next week?

Or the reporters don’t ask at all and miss yet another opportunity to point out his incompetence?

So I’ve been asking how does the virus effect the body and here’s a good report.

On one level the incompetent antics of Trump, Pence and the other arrayed bumblers is hilarious. However, the failed patchwork of the US covid responses is terrifying. Nobody seems to be consolidating and processing everything we learn every day and putting it to work. Sweden, the country that presumed wrongly that this wasn’t a much, much much better iteration of SARS, has paid a hefty price, but at least has its public health response back on track. Swedish ICUs are not overwhelmed. Countries that suppressed are doing well at the moment. Indeed, where did the kooky notion of not suppressing a novel pandemic-causing pathogen even come from? I think we have to go back to a disinterested Trump around Jan. 2 when aides were trying to explain the dangers and that Copenhagen, by virtue of its extensive infection in the first wave of the Spanish flu, was almost untouched in the second and third waves that took out 2-3% of the world’s population. Indeed, for months, even today, we see Trump doesn’t seem to understand that this is not the same kind of virus that caused a pandemic a century ago. You would have thought Birx would have a least got to him on this point months ago.

And to your point Trump doesn’t understand what his Tulsa rally rally wrought.

It was never about health and safety, or abiding by local measures, it was about what it is always about him and who leaked what, when.

Sorta OT, but there’s a hypothesis that it could possibly be COVID-19 related…

It is particularly scary how the virus passes through the blood-brain barriers and even replicates in the brain. Artist’s concept of covid at work and brain defense systems.

Bingo.

I also must ask just what the wages being paid are, just what types of jobs, numbers of hours, etc. What does that job pay, minimum wage, any health care or any benefits, any protective equipment provided, will it be around longer than a couple of months, etc.

Seems that I have read that places like Target have hired 80,000 grocery pickers because of online demand, and that is just one example. Ann example of a job that will be long gone as soon as Target figures out how to get prior staff to do the work.
