First:

Gretna

Explains a lot.

And second:

Two Louisiana police officers were fired

That’s something, I guess.

To serve and protect. Yeah.

It is something. The first statement was that it would be handled internally, but the end result not made public. They weren’t going to fire them.

At last, someplace to put this where it isn’t off topic.

The Brits love this kind of stuff. It helps distract them from their own problems.

I’d like to know if they get hired to be officers elsewhere. That happens.

I used to live in Greta for the year my wife clerked in the 5th circuit. Walked my dogs on the levee multiple times per day. Was the nicest part of living there. I loved those walks.

We lived just a few blocks from a tiny remnant of the Algiers internment camp, which I used to show visitors (when you live in New Orleans, everyone you know visits), as an anachronistic horror from days of yore. NOLA has lots of those.

“…posted along with a fake article claiming that Ocasio-Cortez said that soldiers are paid too much.”

How’s it feel to end your career throwing an online racist temper tantrum induced by your gullibility?

Fucking idiots. That it was fake news almost makes it all the sweeter watching them ruin themselves.

Weirdest part of Gretna (and there were countless) was the drive-though frozen daiquiri stores. The clerk in the window left the tip of paper wrapper on the end of the straw so that what they handed you in your car was not an “open container.”

Don’t worry. They’ll have jobs in the administration, or at least campaign within hours.

On the contrary – Trump will hail these former policemen as “patriotic Americans” and martyrs to political correctness. He will renew his pledges of “Law and Order”.

As used in the south, “Law & Order” is code for “Racism & Xenophobia”.

Those pigs will soon be on Fox news whining about being silenced because of their conservative principles…

“Hey, if Trump can ignore the law without consequence, so can we!!”

And police union grievance filed in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .

The Greta PD HR department has already received an email to not mention them being fired. They both moved on to find more challenges and new career paths!

The Gretna police department would appear to be a bunch of corrupt bastards:

Gretna is the second-largest city in and parish seat of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 17,736 at the [2010 census(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_United_States_Census).[

Police

The city has a police department which was established in 1913.

In 2016, press reports indicated the local police had arrested 6,566 in 2013. This is a rate about fourteen times that of a typical city. Such arrests may have generated over five million dollars in fines and other revenue for the city.

Discovered those in Lafayette. Pure grain alcohol was one of the choices and open Sunday morning. Oh, the times there were…

Good for the police chief. Now the ex-officers need a visit from the FBI.

Two officers?

This is the kind of “collateral damage” I like to see!

Too bad I’m plum out of thoughts and prayers what with the NRA’s circular firing squad / dumpster fire.

Yes! Also: they were at the movie theaters. It does inspire one to go to the cinema and see unlikely films. I think I even saw “The Divine Secrets of The Yaya Sisterhood” with a few of those. I can’t be certain.
