Two GOPers Self-Quarantine After Shaking Hands With Coronavirus Patient At CPAC

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) announced on Sunday that they were self-quarantining after shaking hands with someone at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) less than two weeks ago who later tested positive for COVID-19.

Lots of uncharitable thoughts running through my head right now.

I read a report that when Gosar was interviewed about his predicament he refused to refer to the virus as coronavirus or Covid-19, instead insisting it be called the Wuhan virus. Never miss a chance to play the xenophobia card if you can shoehorn it I guess.

My own thoughts and prayers are unprintable .
Imagine if the very elderly leadership of either party is affected. Disaster

I’m working on it, but my compassion for those trolls is at low ebb. Check back later.

They should all be quarantined.

How does the campaign adapt? No shaking hands at the very least. What about selfies? Can there even be crowds in confined spaces at rallies?

Biden should cancel all rallies after tomorrow. He’ll show leadership ,and, after a few days he will be praised for his foresight. What happens once several hundred people are exposed at a Trump rally? It will be ugly beyond imagining, as Trump accuses foes of deliberate infection

Didn’t your Dear Criminal IMPeetus said Covid-19 was a hoax? You might get in trouble for self-quarantining, after all, didn’t your Dear Criminal IMPeetus said it was okay to work? Tsk tsk tsk…you are contradicting his story-telling-a-lie messaging and messing with his numbers!

Snark aside, despite your loathsomeness, your self preservation will ensure you will not spread Covid-19 to more people!

Meanwhile…“But my numbers” = “Black Monday”

Dow futures = down 1,255 points, 4.9%
S&P 500 futures = down 145.10 points, 4.9%
Nasdaq futures = down 410 points, 4.8%

U.S. stock-index futures were down sharply Monday, falling to their daily limit, as fears of an oil price war between OPEC and Russia sent crude futures plunging, sending shock waves through global financial markets already shaken by the spread of COVID-19.

As of this comment, truth be told…
Covid-19 worldwide
Total Confirmed = 111,354
Deaths = 3,892
Recovered = 62,375
Approx 6.24% Death Rate

Covid-19 USA
Total Confirmed = 566
Deaths = 22
Recovered = 8

And yes MAGAts, Covid-19 is not just on blue states, there are 2 deaths in a red state = FL!

Feels weird to say something positive about Ted Cruz, but here goes:

Good for Ted Cruz.

Now to find some mouthwash.

Sure wish both our leading candidates weren’t a walking example of the at risk population.

Imagine it gets into the supreme court with fat Donnie in charge. That turd might use a national disaster as an excuse to call off the elections.

A real Black Flag operation. A Raid on the stingiest and most self-centered. The ultimate weapon – biological warfare against the conservative plague.

From the WSJ today. It’s in WSJ-speak, but it translates pretty easily if you are familiar with English: “Coronavirus is a Bad mammajamma.”

Network effects are the reason it is anything but dumb to worry about the novel coronavirus. Not only is it spreading much faster than most Americans realize; it is also disrupting global manufacturing supply chains as well as all the economic activities that depend on travel and proximity. It could set off a cascade of defaults in the corporate bond market, disrupting the global financial network.
