White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow’s latest attempt at promoting mask-wearing amid a nationwide surge of coronavirus cases slipped — literally! — during a gaggle with reporters Monday.
I went to Home Cheapo the other day. There was a guy from hardware standing near the key machine, so I asked him to make me a key. His mask was below his nose, so I said, “That mask isn’t doing much good.” When he did nothing but hold out his hand for my key, I said, “Did you hear me?” He said yes. I walked away. Thought of looking for a manager, but I didn’t want to spend more time in that germ-laden atmosphere.
I can’t tell you how many people I see every day wearing it like that. I understand about glasses getting fogged (has anyone figured out how to fix that?) but that’s just useless.
WH economic adviser Larry Kudlow: “You know why? You all are wearing them.”
But, but, but Larry? They’re also prone to believe in science and experts. If you’re going to follow their example, that’s a better place to start.
I’m seeing this more and more in places where you’re required to have one. I think with at least with some folks it’s some sort of protest or just mulish refusal to do it right. Of course others are certainly morons. Kudlow’s just a clown. But strangely, he’s the first in the administration to acknowledge even part of what’s necessary.
