Twitter Permanently Bans Trump | Talking Points Memo

Until 1/20, POTUS is still his

It’s rather doubtful such laws get passed in a narrow Congress and regardless under the framing that is likely to come out, one should be very careful what one wishes for.

Laws are sharp on both edges.

This, of course, is the irony of the RWNJ’s trying to repeal Section 230, which protects social media sites from responsibility for what their members post.

For 12 days more.

And if he shitposts (as is his wont) Twitter can certainly suspend the POTUS account until Biden is sworn in…

Shhhhh… he doesn’t know that one exists.

Exactly! It has the opposite effect that Twitler thought it would.

Facebook’s UI is quite bad, and easily fixable without increasing their load. But their apps monetize much better, so they’ve got no incentive to improve the website.

It will be interesting to see if there ever is such a thing as a Trump presidential library. The facility has to be built using donations and I doubt anyone would want to put up the cash for it. The records will probably end up in archives not associated with a privately funded library. Landing a presidential library is a big deal, especially in smaller town, but what city wants to be known as the shithole with the Trump library?

Now let’s go after and force the shutdown of every Trumpista: all spawn, Meadows, McConnell, Nunes, Paul, Jordan, Gaetz, etc, etc, etc.

PUT. IN. THE. FUCKING. BOOT. Stomp them into oblivion.

If anything, the Android app is even worse than the website. But it’s true that I can’t block the ads on the app. It’s sometimes easy to forget that FB isn’t motivated to make their site convenient for the user. FB is motivated to make the site generate revenue.

You may be right.
Personally, I think the speed at which he went deeper off the rails since election was the knowledge of how done he is and how much damage he did to his life by running and winning. Early in his presidency he did an interview with a nugget of honesty in which he said that he had a great life that was better (for him) before he became president. He has had to live with that truth all these years.
The fleecing of the tax payers $ to prop up his failing properties is coming to an end and his brand is badly damaged worldwide.

The constant refrain from many Republican members of congress was “If he only didn’t tweet so much” and “I don’t read the tweets”. What excuse do they have now?
