Tuesday's Big Contest in Michigan, and a Lower-Profile One in Kansas

Two Elections to Watch Tonight One critique of Democrats that has stuck with me — lodged by fellow Democrats against their colleagues and themselves — is that they vote in primaries not for who they want to elect, but for who they think their neighbors will elect. In the face of crushing increases in the…

I can’t wait for tomorrow’s report.

Maybe it’s time to walk away from the ineffective Dems we have and try someone new.

That has worked so well, for so long:

Seriously, what was Donnie before he got himself elected, a legend in his own mind?

And, when it’s one of Donnie’s allies, it’s a private matter (seeking to redefine the issue: )

Absolutely. And when he got elected in 2016 the reinforcement for that self image made a quantum leap forward. Thirty car motorcades, Secret Service 24/7 protection, soldiers saluting him. No wonder he went apeshit when he lost the 2020 election and all that went away.

He would have played for the Yankees, but you know, bone spurs.

Damn… the “rules” are still ambiguous - even when digging for details.

Rep. Max Miller would need to drop out by the close of business on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, to trigger a special primary,

or - face a final ballot replacement deadline of August 10, 2026, with party rules.

Soooo- define “close of business” - ? - are we talking midnight? … or some “office hours” close like 5:00pm ?

… and this “final ballot replacement” - huh? - is there enough tangled BS in all of this that the local Republican party could gather this weekend in a proverbial “smoke filled room” and just unilaterally reject this asshole for unspecified reasons?

President Trump is now demanding that Iran reach a deal with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz as soon as today or face devastating attacks from the United States.
(Trump Conceding Hormuz Tolling Regime to Iran - TPM – Talking Points Memo )
So, Donnie will now bomb Iran for not making it look like he still had some control over the outcome of his war?
Folks should be lookin’ away from this with feelings of discomfort.

Even though he was still in high school e could have replaced Y.A. Tittle and defeated the Bears in the 1963 NFL Championship.

I would argue that they’re two sides of the same coin.

Politicians like John Cornyn, Thom Tillis and Susan Collins provide a transparent window into the Republican party for anyone that looks.

They are attached to their party, not their country and never ever the Constitution. They would debase themselves, shred their dignity, lose their careers, and let loose grand corruption against the Constitution and country all in favor of their party without consideration of any else. Calling them dignity wraiths is too much, because they have never had dignity as it is beside the point to them. They have a belonging, and it is solely to their party and its advancement, no matter what that might mean, good or bad or awful or worst.

These Senators have nothing to lose, and may be even something to gain in opposing Donald Trump’s corrupt acts at this point. And the only reason they will not is because of their concerns that it might mean they become severed from their party to be cast aside as a RINO. Donald Trump understands these politicians really well, and he threatens exactly that because he knows it works.

Why … yes!
Dear Leader accummulates other people’s trophies and championship rings as acknowledgement of the fact that he’d have played a starring role in that contest if he’d only been not so busy with other things.
