Senator Tommy Tuberville (aka Mr Potato Head) hates women and the military.
“Tuberville is blocking the Senate from considering their nominations because he opposes a Defense Department policy to reimburse travel expenses for military personnel who have to leave their states to get abortions or other reproductive care.”

I read an article that the saguaros are ”melting.”

True
Saguaros “respire” at night when temps are supposed to be less than daytime but above certain temperatures…
The damage to this old guy in my front yard is from a storm years ago. The hole you see is an apartment of a family of sparrows at the moment. Luckily when this old cactus was damaged the bit fell away from our house. The cat, a very friendly guy, belongs to a neighbor but the cat visits because I have catnip in pots on my porch that he likes.

Just close all of the military bases in states that limit abortion access. Problem solved.

He is probably making those sparrows nervous.

Eliminate the Senate. Even better.

Tuberville is just another Putin people.
He, Trump and Trump followers will do anything to weaken our Country to the point they can hand over control to Putin.

Proportional representation in the House; even betterer.

I believe Tuberville made some flip remark that service members get 30 days of vacation a year, and they should just use their vacation time. So to be equitable and inclusive why not make any member of the armed services use their vacation time to deal with any and all medical situations? s/

I really am against term limits, but can we add two terms and done for the Senate? And I mean just for the Senate.

Tommy Tatertown sure didn’t take long to become full of himself.

I still don’t understand why the Senate is involved in routine military promotions in the first place.

And … why can’t Schumer schedule a vote to ignore Tuberville’s blockade? Surely there must be enough sane senators to pass it? Or, taking a leaf from Mitch McConnell’s playbook, Schumer could just ignore the hold?

Two points, Tuberville has the distinction of being labeled as the “dumbest Senator,” and, he’s from Alabama. Schumer needs to put on his big boy pants and bring the appointments to the floor as an all inclusive motion for DOD positions, and include a provision banning “military” holds. Then, any Republican voting against the bill should be labeled anti-military. Schumer, if he has a set of balls. should be able to get unanimous approval from the Dems.

Two thoughts:
I don’t want to live in a world where idiots like Tommy Tuberville can wield this kind of power.

The vast majority of the people who are being held back will probably still vote Republican right down the line.

Additional half a thought
Joe Manchin can go fuck himself.

Haven’t had my coffee yet.

It’s been a few years, but I seem to remember a scene in the movie 1776 about not bringing a certain item up for discussion. I believe it wasn’t until some more delegates arrived at the convention that voted to finally bring up the discission on that British problem we were having at the time.

Can you say Manchenema?

And why not cut the Senate to ONLY 30 days vacation.
