Trumps Predictably Won’t Comply With Subpoenas

On behalf of his wife, I’m pissed that he probably cleaned up his act out of spite.

a paramilitary group of Special Forces veterans and ex-intelligence officials

Our military appears to be the main breeding ground (along with police forces) for insurrection and treason. Every one of these militia groups is made up of ex-military and cops. It is truly frightening that the military leadership is allowing this to happen. Allowing? Encouraging? There needs to be a purge, from the top down, stripping insurrectionists of their rank and pensions, and tossing them out with dishonorables. The fact that my tax dollars pay for Flynn’s pension - not to mention the terrorist training camps (aka “military service”) that feed the PB’s, Oath Keepers, etc. - truly pisses me off.

Glad I telework. Still have my Molekule air purifier set at maximum. Instacart delivers my groceries to my door. Dr. checking to see if I should be getting another booster on top of the one I got back in September.

And yet I have relatives who refuse to get the vaccine.

Litigating against Trumps is like litigating against a pro se sovereign citizen nutball, where you end up spending the better part of a day searching for authority clearly stating that contracts are binding and 12 silver dollars sent in an unsolicited envelope isn’t an accord and satisfaction. They’re just making shit up as they go along, and they’re not going to get sanctioned over it because there really isn’t anything on point that says they’re wrong because it’s all so very stupid.

I think we all do.

I agree (which is why I don’t practice and use the old Gandhi quote about Christ and Christians often).

However many are guided by common sense and good will when applying their religious beliefs. The Pope is speaking to them.

Pope Francis seems to be more pragmatic about these issues than other pontiffs and he recognizes how out of control and away from central teachings this has gotten.

While I agree, a 60% drop in contributions is clearly hurting. It would be nice to learn that most of the drop-out donations are being directed to their Dem opponent this year. That would surely hurt more than a few.

Unfortunately,
he is addressing the cult of right-wing catholics who don’t see him as the “legitimate pope”
These crack-pot totalatrian assholes get really pissed off with him because he talks about, love, peace, harmony, consideration, fairness, loving neighbors regardless of their beliefs, color, or other traits.

This was actually brought up years ago. That various white supremist group were encouraging the kids to join the military to get actual military training. Early 2000s I think.

I couldn’t agree more. But which ironically makes him perhaps the most radical Pope in decades. It’s no wonder he’s faced such internal dissension from recalcitrant members within the hierarchy. I’m not a fan of “big religion” in general, but I’m rooting for him.

I really don’t think it is fair to photoshop people to make them look sooo ridiculous. Besides, it is just not believable. I mean really. Those cheeks, those chins. The hair is over the top but it fades in comparison.

Sort of like playing chess against a beginner that knows what move each piece is allowed, and nothing more. Sure, eventually you’ll win. But while playing you’re forced to throw out everything you usually do and merely react to the opponent’s strategy. Or more to the point, lack thereof. Nothing they do is against the rules per se, but it’s all so stupid and full of errors you struggle to adapt.

Let me tell you a true thing about Judge Reed O’Connor. When you appear before him in the courtroom, he is a perfectly ordinary and cordial judge who seems interested in the issues presented and in no real way betrays that he’s about to do something completely batshit crazy, absolutely loony-pants, when he gets back in chambers and fires up ECF like it’s fucking Twitter.

One has to wonder whether he had that level of commitment to “the cause” and refused to be taken away by socialists or he was just too fat to go out the door without intervention from “the jaws of life”.

Took me a while to get there. But after nearly two years of following the damned rules, getting vaccinated, masking in public places, I just spent a very lonely new years in isolation after catching it, and while I’m going to get through, still not great.

I’m fed up, sick, and tired of these covidiots ruining everything for the rest of us, and feeling like we’re permanently imprisoned and still at risk because of them… Fuck them. Each and every fucking one of them.

One thing I can vouch for, Omicron is coming for them. It doesn’t care if you’ve been vaccinated, no herd immunity of the vaccinated is going to protect their dumbasses this round, it’s going to hit everyone who isn’t 100% a hermit living off the grid. And can only wish the worst outcomes for them when it does.

I think he was in denial that he had it and made a phone call when it got bad enough.

He’s the first Pope I’ve paid any attention to for as long as I can remember. I’m rooting for him, too. He stumbled at the start because he didn’t understand the politics and the power for power’s sake in the hierarchy is strong.

He reminds me of Biden in a lot of ways trying to mend fences and pull people into the light to get things done.
