A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things.
Ivanka Trump and Don. Jr asked a judge to throw out New York Attorney General Letitia James’ subpoenas of them in her civil investigation into the former president’s businesses last night. The prosecutor wants both documents and testimony under oath from the two Trumps.
Twitter folks in a position to know, I think, are saying that Tish James would not have subpoenaed the Foul Spawn unless she already had the evidence she needs. I hope those folks are correct!
My redneck neighbor went to the hospital with covid on Saturday, I’m sure he wasn’t vaxxed because I know him well enough. The police had to break down his door so the EMT’s could get him out of his house.
Even in Connecticut, where the vaccination rate (along with the rest of New England) is in the 70%s, schools are closing. The State has done away with remote learning in its entirety. My grandkids were exposed to COVID by a friend and were quarantined for two weeks after Thanksgiving. They got back to school for three days and then the third grandchild was tested positive and it was another two weeks of quarantine for all four kids.
Three of the grands have IEP’s, meaning they have some form of learning disability (primarily dyslexia and ADD, inherited from Dad). No learning for nearly six weeks, after being set back from all of last year. The 12 year old is stressed out because he knows he has a lot to catch up on and self-learning isn’t in the cards.
I have a microcosm at the farm of the damage being done by the virus to our kids. No one there is blaming the President, either (I got that, loud and clear, from daughter). They know who to blame.
There’s a petition being circulated in CT asking to have remote learning re-instated. I know it’s a stress on the teachers, but the kids are truly suffering with no learning whatsoever. This is a case where something is better than nothing.
Had to break down the door to go in and get him? Because he was too ill to get up?
Or had to break down the door for some other reason…like he is too huge or a hoarder, etc?
The WaPo commenters are, almost to a person, heavily criticizing the 35 Navy Seals who are refusing to get the vaccine on religious grounds and have filed a law suit. A Federalist judge just granted a temporary injunction blocking the Navy from taking action against them.
The religious Right is footing the bill. These people must be smacked down hard.
He was in bad shape, they had to practically carry him out to the stretcher because his door was too narrow for it to fit through. He looked close to death to me.
Seals get all sorts of vaccinations… why not for covid? And a religious exemption? Those folks kill people during their Special Ops. Not sure at all that Jesus would approve as he was the ultimate pacifist.
Corporate donations to GOP objectors running for reelection shrank dramatically from $27,205,290 in 2019 down to $11,052,925 in 2021 .
Still too much!!!
I thought businesses and the Chamber of Commerce didn’t like chaos, which is generally bad for the market.
