I had this talk just now with Dear Hubby. He says if we want to change it, have elections. We lost this last election, so stop crying about it and make the change. I told him about the NYT map this morning that shows registration with the Dem party is hemorrhaging. He responded yes, and that’s because all they’re doing is crying and not taking any action. Then he noted that Newsom is probably the only guy and Hubby is looking forward to Illinois, specifically Chicago, pushing back on the First Felon’s NG push. He said he doesn’t know how this is going to turn out and it really could go either way, depending on how the Chicago police feel about the NG encroaching on their territory.
He said if Pritzker and the mayor fold on this, he feels it’s all pretty much over.

My expat Mom lived in Canada for the last 74 years of her life and she was a proud American all her life (100 years, 1921-2021). Her health was declining in her later years, and her failing sight and hearing, combined with cognitive decline meant she had no way to comprehend Trump 1.0. It made no sense to her (because it made no sense), and my brother and I were not inclined to explain it to her. It is a mercy she is no longer here to live through this.
