Trump Won’t Entertain Questions About His Rhetoric: ‘It Brings People Together’

Ahead of his visit to the sites of two mass shootings that killed more than 30 people over the weekend, President Trump on Wednesday swatted away questions from reporters about the impact of his rhetoric.

“No I don’t think my rhetoric has at all, I think my rhetoric — it brings people together. Our country is doing incredibly well, China is not doing well if you look at the trade situation.”

…SQUIRREL!

He speaks to an audience of one, and even that audience isn’t a very good listener.

“It brings people together.” Astounding. Utterly amazing.

What if the president came to your city and nobody showed up? Or cared?

We can hope!

He is shiftless and unrepentant. He is a complete fraud of a human being who deserves to be exiled to an ice floe somewhere in the Weddell Sea. Thread:

Yeah, serious people who I respect are asking things like “will Trump tone down the ‘invasion’ language?” and I just laugh and laugh. The man is infirm and incapable.

It brings people together. Correct, in a sense. It brings people without guns buying back to school supplies for their children in contact with people who drive 9 hours from Dallas to shoot them dead. A uniter

He’ll start using more code words. He turned the question to Antifa.

I’m fascinated that he is willing to call it “rhetoric”. The definition of rhetoric that we use in teaching is, of course, totally different than the way it is used to discuss political speech, where it takes on a sinister edge. I’m just amazed that he is willing to admit that it is, in the connotation of media and political usage, rhetoric. He seems to admit that it is meaningless cant used just to achieve his political ends. Wow. Just wow.

The President claimed that his remarks in the aftermath of the shootings were unifying, rather than divisive, before pivoting to talk about his ongoing trade war with China.

He’s not wrong on this. The regime has unified White nationalism as never before. Of course, the existence of social media is paramount but the regime has learned to game the world of social media and pull all these forces of racism and hate for the sole purpose of worshiping Rump and destroying a country that they no longer believe is worthy of them.

The GOP is just being dragged behind the car that’s driving it.

Nobody is more of a uniter than me. Unlike Warren and Sanders, who do nothing but divide this country, and inspire shooters. The failing Democrat party could only dream of being able to unite the country the way I unite the country…

He displays his utter ignorance, incompetence and lack of humanity in this episode of “Chopper Talk.” A real POTUS would have walked by the gaggle and not said one word. What a pathetic and disgusting excuse of a man.

These visits will go so badly, esp to El Paso. A body with a mouth and no brain guarantees it.

The most amazing thing is I think he believes it. To the extent he perceives things to exist in a state of truth or fiction, anyway. Never mind that “attacking the other side brings the two sides together” is a concept doesn’t make sense even on its face. He wills it into truthiness from the aether through the Trumply splendor of his wordburders.

Well, if he won’t we will. He’s nothing more than a fucking two-bit entertainer and third-rate reality star anyway. He also comes closest to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and the Villain of Vaudeville all rolled up into one.
