Tucked into that exceptionally grim, softball Trump interview with Fox News’ Howard Kurtz over the weekend, there was a little chunk of news: the former president plans to make a decision “pretty soon” on whether he’ll back a national abortion ban if he wins the White House again in the fall.
Journalists, among others, should be the caretakers of the English language. It should be "Trump will ‘soon’ decide whom he’s willing to piss of on abortion.
I can’t believe TPM, of all places, fell for this. He won’t announce his pick “soon”. He probably won’t announce until day three of the convention. This is just the Veep version of “Infrastructure Week” – generate buzz by announcing a thing, follow-through be damned.
The fact that he needs to come down with a stance, whether it be a 16 week ban or a full ban, that’s immaterial if it means restrictions
Any stance that encompasses any of that stuff means the willingness to move the goalpost even farther later on and so on and so on.
Women I’m sure would rather that men be not making decisions for them, full stop.
If his decision encompasses whatever restrictions he chooses he deems “fair”, there will still be restrictions. This will continue to be where women will still not have any choice in the matter.
Still will be a bad choice whichever way he slices it.
I suspect that “pretty soon” in this context means “as soon as I make my infrastructure week plans available”.
Trump has nothing to gain by making his plans concrete. His best strategy is ambiguity until the election or close to it, and his rhetoric so far shows that he probably knows that.
In other words, “pretty soon” is likely just another Trump lie.
“I would like to see if we could make both sides happy.”
Spoken like a true imbecile. I mean, who knew healthcare could be so hard? Or no one knew women cared about bodily autonomy until I brought it up. I did that.
He’ll announce it in two weeks. Everything is two weeks away. Like his infrastructure bill. And his “beautiful” healthcare bill. The fat fuck knows nothing but blowing smoke up people’s asses and making promises that carry as much weight as the fetid breath that carried them.

If you think about it his choice is to alienate his most vocal supporters or most of America. That really isn’t much of a choice for Trump. He will always support the white Christian nationalists who worship him as a god.
Biden should me making hay out of this and talking up shartstain’s big plans for curtailing women’s rights. He should remind how proud the shartstain is about killing RoeVWade and how he came up with the idea for a 16 week national ban! Tie that albatross around his neck and point it out until it rots off!
