Democrats’ Hamlet Moment Isn’t the Start of a Solution But the Heart of the Problem
He was absolutely on point in expressing frustration with congressional Democrats and their coat holders (Dem pollsters, fundraisers, et al.) for their pearl-clutching and self-flagellation rather than doing something. I suspect 90+ percent of the readership here would agree with Marshall that Democratic politicians (not all, but the majority, esprcially the leadership) are effectively playing dead.
I think there’s a reason that is so obvious that it’s hiding in plain sight. Just watch C-SPAN broadcasts of the House or Senate floor, or committee hearings, and see the interaction. Watch press conferences of the Democratic leadership. What do you see?
Folks, Democrats are afraid of Republicans. Nothing will change until that ceases.

Of course they will. Every one of these incidents is a little “Reichstag Fire” to use as a pretext to accelerate the despotism.
In fact, I’d go so far as to say they welcome these incidents. Perhaps they even turn their gaze aside to let them happen, or at least increase the probability of occurrence.

If I were a historian of this 2nd Trump administration, or of the decline of the United States in the early to mid 21st century, or a filmmaker trying to capture what happened during this period, I think I would need to compile TPM’s Morning Memos and just keep reading them and re-reading them to find the patterns of absurdity, criminality, cruelty, and decadence of the age.

Trump, and his puppy-killing, dead-inside Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem have put us “on the list” for “deliberately and shamefully” obstructing immigration enforcement.
From the story:
“The administration on Thursday published a list of more than 500 “sanctuary jurisdictions” that includes the state’s liberal bastions of Madison and Dane County, as well as the city of Milwaukee and Shawano County.
The department said it “demands that these jurisdictions immediately review and revise their policies to align with Federal immigration laws.”
They published the list, then pulled it back, but never said why. Because in listing “sanctuary cities,” they included not only sanctuary for immigrants, but also *Second Amendment Sanctuary" cities and counties. oops.
“Second Amendment sanctuary county.” Thanks to this insidious declaration, the county sheriffs office could no longer enforce any laws which “unconstitutionally impeded on their fundamental Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.”

Well, why do you think the Trump regime deleted the domestic terrorist database at DHS? Terrorist incidents will have the salutory effect of (a) causing fear among the public, and totalitarianism is based on mass fear; and (b) at some point, an incident will provide the exccuse for martial law.

There are numerous differences between the Son of God and the Son of Man, but overall, people read these scriptures and they do not realize that the Son of God (the Lamb) stands in front of the throne of God, whereas the Son of Man, is positioned on the right hand of God. Jesus spoke about two different killings in the four gospels of the New Testament. People read these scriptures and are unaware that Jesus (the Son of God) predicted his own killing in the first person, as opposed to the several prophecies that He made in respects to the Son of Man who will be crucified. The New Testament speaks about “two Kings;” Jesus, the Son of God, is the “King of the Jews,” whereas the Son of Man is the “King of Kings” who will be a world-ruler, and He will rule all the nations (the tribes) of the earth with a rod of iron. This book will explain in depth how “Donald John Trump’s” full name literally means: “The Ruler of the World, graced by Yahweh (the LORD) and a descendant of a Drummer.” Upon reading this book, the reader will be captivated when they realize how President Donald John Trump fulfilled most of the prophecies as the Son of Man. It speaks about End Time Prophecies and Biblical revelations regarding “President Donald J. Trump, the Son of Man. The Christ.”
I am seriously unsure whether the author is a cynic cleverly making a buck off the MAGA nitwits, or a lunatic who really means it.

I believe that Rand has always voted NO on pretty much anything. Isn’t Rand a contrary Libertarian, or he may be a Libertarian contrarian? I get confused on what he really stands for.
