Trump Was 100% Making Phone Calls During the Jan. 6 Attack: Here’s The List

As you’ve probably seen by now, White House call logs the National Archives turned over to the House Jan. 6 Committee have a seven-hour gap that don’t include any calls then-President Donald Trump made or received from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. on Jan. 6, according to the Washington Post and CBS News, which obtained the records. That wide gap runs contrary to reports of multiple calls that Trump took as the Capitol insurrection was unfolding — key conversations between Trump and his allies that have helped shape the scope of the Jan. 6 committee’s probe.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) told the Salt Lake Tribune that he got a call from Trump “moments after” the Capitol Police halted the Senate proceedings as the mob breached the building. The caller ID “indicated that the call was coming from the White House,” Lee said, but he didn’t know it was Trump until he picked up.

This indicates that the call was “coming from the White House” so Trump may have started using Meadows’ phone. The sole reason for doing so would be to avoid logging the call. This is a separate crime from overturning the election, and there seems to me no reason the DOJ should not immediately begin an investigation.

Has anyone ever said why tfg was even calling tuberville during the assault on the capitol? If he wanted to talk to the senate’s dumbest repub he could have dialed rojo instead of potatohead. I can’t see why tfg wasn’t trying to dial one of the fascists with a brain cell if he was trying to get inside answers about how his insurrection was proceeding.

Perhaps the reason for the call was made clear at the time and I’ve just forgotten.

“Trump Was 100% Making Phone Calls During the Jan. 6 Attack.”

Heavy Breathing: “I’m not wearing any pants…”

(Later: “Do you have Mike Pence in a can?”)

That said, perjury is a thing that trips up Alabama politicians.

I have wondered about this. Why call a guy with a cartoon character name? My only answer is that Tuberville is a known suck-up, and DFG thinks the guy is smart because he’s involved in sportsball on the TeeVee.

You forgot:

“Hi, I have been trying to reach you about your car warranty and service plan. Our records indicate that…”

I presume that the caller ID for Meadows’ personal phone would probably read “Mark Meadows” or something similar. “Coming from the White House” sounds more like a government line to me.

What crime would that be?

Gaetz’s call was about available under age girls for Trump and friends.

Maybe the only reason was that Tuberville was a big supporter. Trump was desperate to stop the process, and like any desperate person who lets terror take over, he was capable of calling anyone to help support him, no matter how pointlessly.

Jordan and Lee were laughing on the House floor; Gaetz was texting. All those motherfuckers, except possibly Pence, are going to jail.

Violating the Presidential Records Act

The Presidential Records Act requires the preservation of memos, letters, notes, emails, faxes and other written communications related to a president’s official duties. The National Archives website states the presidential diary should be a “chronological record of the President’s movements, phone calls, trips” and meetings.
