Does MAGA have values in isolation and/or independent of Donald Trump? Or is the ideology of the hordes subject to the whims of their master?

I wonder if the MAGAts realize that it won’t be the 1%s’ kids that’ll be going to fight that war.
I wonder if they realize it will be their children and grandchildren that will serve as cannon fodder.
My guess is, they’re too busy worrying about trans kids to even be remotely concerned.

If Trump has succeeded in one thing in his second round in office, it is in driving any person with even the slightest pretense of competence, independence, or self-respect out of his administration. These people are like particularly dim and sadistic children who have been given large caliber pistols to play with.

I’d be careful about believing what you read–except the bible… I’m not religious but have read the bible multiple times (old and new). I sincerely hope that Proverbs 6:16-19 and Revelations 21:8 are correct and lying liars like Pete Kegstand, er, Hegseth, get what the bible says they deserve.

Despite CF campaigning on ending forever wars and being anti war, he is itching to be in one so he can pump his fists and say they chased him like a mad dog.
Also - this will give SecDef another second chance to make good to CF for the dismal parade.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, MAGA IS NOT NOR HAS IT EVER BEEN ANTI-WAR.
First off, it is impossible to have supported George W Bush and Donald “George W Bush lied us into a disastrous war in Iraq” Trump as almost all Trump supporters have done without admitting that foreign policy and security mean nothing to you. It is true that most Trump supporters hate Moslems and so support murdering as many as possible and that is the basis for having supported W Bush and now Donald Trump.
What is happening is that there is a split between the Putin puppets in the Trump coalition and those who blindly hate Moslems.
Iran has become an important ally of Putin supplying him with weapons for his invasion of Ukraine. Iran and Putin were also allied to help Assad stay in power in Syria.
Putin is no doubt upset that his ally is being forced to defend itself and will likely not be able to continue its suppling him and his puppets, Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard, are not happy.
But calling MAGA anti-war after threatening to invade Canada, Greenland, Iran, Mexico and several other nations is laughable.
The split in the Trump coalition is between those loyal first and foremost to Vladimir Putin and those who hate Moslems more than they love anything else.

Word on King David Street is that the CENTCOM commander, General Michael “Erik” Kurill, has Hegseth’s ear. He’s been pushing hard to hit Iran.
Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM) Gen. Michael Kurilla met with US President Donald Trump and presented him with military options regarding Iran, a source familiar with the details told The Jerusalem Post Wednesday.
Kurilla himself supports joining Israeli strikes and is highly knowledgeable about both American operational plans and Israeli capabilities, owing to his role as CENTCOM commander, which he has held since 2022.
It is no coincidence that, according to reports, Israel wanted to carry out the strike before Kurilla leaves his position.

Time for us lefties, and all Democrats, to start informing the MAGA crowd that their messiah Trump has been lying to them about “no more wars.”
- He promised to “end the Ukraine/Russian war on Day One”, but hasn’t lifted a finger, and seems to have lost interest
- He promised to end the Israeli/Hamas attacks, but has done even less – clearly, he’s not interested
- And now, he wants to start The Big One: the United States versus Iran, a modern, technologically sophisticated nation with 6,000 years of history and over 90 million people. Why? Because Bibi is telling him to.
Not much of a peacemaker, nor the long promised isolationist, and a chicken, unable to stand up to puny Israel, with its 10 million. Or will he? Remember, Trump Always Chickens Out.

darr, thanks so much for the mention of Pandora’s Box, my most favorite of all fables. And that is the perfect illustration with it ! What makes it a favorite is how after all the horrors have been unleashed on the Earth there was still Hope left down in the bottom. I have referenced that story many times in life to friends who were struggling and maybe unaware of the fable. There’s always Hope…
However, any realistic appraisal of the odds for American democracy to last beyond the current administration would have to be dismal. I find my grip on Hope is not as strong as it once was…

It seems pretty simple to me: you say that you believe the Bible, but your actions indicate that you actually do not.
You ignore the lesson the story about Sodom was meant to teach. Furthermore, you ignore virtually every ethical lesson that Hebrew scriptures teach.
You also ignore the lessons that Jesus taught. You ignore Jesus’s call to the nations to help refugees.
Pete, you drunk fool, I wish you believed in the Bible, and I wish you read it. Clearly you don’t, and you haven’t.
I hope you find Jesus, and I say that as a non-believer.
