Trump Wants the Fed to Rescue Him Ahead of the Midterms. That’s Probably Not Going to Happen.

President Donald Trump has made no secret of his desire to exert control over the Federal Reserve’s economic policy. His primary demand? Cut interest rates.  That, Trump seems to reason, will give the economy a short-term jolt, even if it causes longer-term pain.  So, after the central bank did the opposite and raised rates slightly…

The moral of the story is that whatever DonOLD wants, do the opposite.

I’m no economist, but I really don’t believe that dropping the interest rates, especially if perceived due to political influence, would have the effect that the dipshit thinks it would. The bond market would likely freak out, for one.

The Republicans stepped on their dicks big time with this putz in the White House. GOP is in one big jam. I cannot say I predicted the severity of this jam, but I did tell my wife early on to expect the GOP to overplay their hand – both Houses + Executive. Didn’t take a genius, but those of my generation especially will know what I’m talkin’ about. They tried it with Reagan. You’re dealt a full house, bet the farm and hit up against 4 of a kind. Hee Hee.

Stepping on one’s own dick requires a big dick. That would be called “facts not in evidence.” Just sayin’…

LOWER THE RATE OR I’LL STOP TRADING WITH COUNTRIES WITH WHICH WE HAVE A DEFICIT,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He then voiced his displeasure with the new, higher rates multiple times during an interview with TIME Magazine on Sept. 28, accusing the board of “Trump derangement syndrome,” but also seemed to come to terms with his inability to sway the 12-person voting body — something he has been attempting to do for nearly a decade, starting during his first term
… … … … … … …
Am i to understand frm this deranged man’s blabbering that he controls and conducts all trade with America world wide? Ok, why then does he have time for golf? And no wonder nothing else gets done since he is knee deep with trade deals with Botswana and Lesotho and 140 other countries around the world (leaving off Russia).
Trump derangement syndrome should apply to him alone since he is the deranged person.

Yeah, the idea that a quarter point drop in the Fed rate would provide a huge economic boost is typical Trump stupidity.

Proof positive that this excrement-for-brains has no idea how the government actually works. I’ll type this slowly, so he can understand it…he is not a king, he is not a dictator, and he is most certainly NOT the CEO of the USA. 86 47

The MAGA Republican voters had a choice:

  1. A candidate who would take the Great Replacement Theory seriously but would tank the economy
  2. A candidate who would not go after “those other people” but concentrate on basic Republican economic principles (the 1% get the cake while the working stiffs get the crumbs)

Sadly they chose option one. They got rid of the undocumented (particularly those with extra melanin) but can no longer afford gas or groceries. If I could get an honest answer I would ask them: Was it worth it?

70% of consumers struggle with multiple affordability issues

New research finds 70% of U.S. households face multiple affordability pressures, as childcare, housing, food and health care costs outpace many families’ incomes.

The Chairman of the Federal Reserve might sound like he has a lot of power but in reality he is just one of seven members of the board of governors. All seven board members of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, along with the five Federal Reserve Bank presidents, are members of the Federal Open Market Committee, which directs the open market operations that sets monetary policy. They all have to agree to do anything.

Nobody ever told Trump that nor did anyone tell the press.

That is why letting Jerome Powell’s term expire and appointing Kevin Warsh chairman hasn’t lead to any real change.

I’ll forgive 'em for voting for him once. But twice or – heaven help-- 3 times? That voter has to be one dumb bastard --dumb in so many ways.
