A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo. Sign up for the email version. No One Is Safe The Trump-Vance ticket’s unbridled racist attacks on Haitian immigrants in Ohio – as a proxy for attacking immigrants and people of color everywhere – continue unabated deep into the second week…

In commemoration of the day that Donald Trump almost came close to, not quite, but very nearly, and when we say very nearly, we mean within 500 yards of a crazy man who leaned a gun up against a fence and didn’t fire a shot.

At a Trump rally in Flint on Tuesday, an audience member asked him what he thought the biggest threat was to manufacturing jobs in Michigan, and Trump said nuclear weapons. Not foreign competition. Not unions, as you’d expect from this crowd. But nukes.

And to double down on the insanity, he said global warming will be good for Michigan because it will give them more seafront property. In Michigan. A State not on the ocean. And 600 feet above it.

But in fairness to this lunatic, it was a full moon on Tuesday.

People seated behind the former president at a rally in Arizona reported symptoms including burning eyes.

People seated behind him. Diaper gases?

Throw into this mix things like LEO encouraging neighbors to write down addresses of those with Harris-Walz signs in their yards . . .

As I drove to work this morning, MSNBC was reviewing the latest Quinnipiac poll (Harris 51%, Trump 45%) and Philly Inquirer poll (Harris 50.6%, Trump 46.9%), but WAPO runs this story today. I don’t know who WAPO is polling, but it is probably voters from rural PA areas. AND, Sen. Casey is ahead by 8 points over carpetbagger Dave McCormick.

Harris and Trump essentially tied in Pennsylvania, Post poll finds

The state’s closely watched Senate race shows a similarly tight contest, and 93 percent of registered voters say they are certain to vote.

We can talk about “national” until Ragnarok’s return, but either the above happened (either previously or yesterday) or the United States is still a regional thing.

In honor of TLAP day, a quote from TCF featuring the famous pirate Robert E. Lee…

“Gettysburg. Wow. I go to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to look and to watch. And the statement of Robert E. Lee ― who’s no longer in favor, did you ever notice that? No longer in favor ― ‘Never fight uphill, me boys, never fight uphill.’ They were fighting uphill. He said, ‘Wow, that was a big mistake.’ He lost his great general, and they were fighting. ‘Never fight uphill, me boys!’ But it was too late.”

RNC speaker and Teamsters president Sean O’Brien said they would not endorse a candidate this year, but major local chapters, including Michigan, Wisconsin, California, Illinois, Iowa, Nevada, and others then immediately announced they would endorse Harris. And likely more to follow. It’s obvious which party supports unions and which is anti-union, and the local chapters are making that point very clear to O’Brien and the national leadership who decided not to endorse Harris.

RNC kiss-ass O’Brien
Says Teamster’s support he’s denyin’
But despite this dumb scheme
To Kamala’s Team
The local endorsements are flyin’
