IMO he’s holding back to wait for the post Senate impeachment vote presser. You have to give the guy a break after all the shit he has pulled for the GOP over the years, he only has one more extrication of GOP from deep shit, in him.

I’m left wondering just who will wind up under that bus.
Would be very happy if they manage to trip up each other. Barr is much smarter than Trump (okay, a houseplant is smarter than Trump), but it’s likely his fanaticism impairs his judgement. Whether that or self-preservation wins out remains to be seen.
And, as much as he was center stage for what seemed like months, he’s been traveling and absent since this all started. I’m sure there’s no connection. 
That’s the pattern but I doubt Trump is in any hurry to get rid of Barr. He has a sense of self-preservation flitting through the idiocy and Barr is the crooked police commissioner and all the judges in town, rolled into one. They distanced themselves from Al Capone occasionally in public, I’m sure.
Republicans make a big deal about Trump not being afforded a slew of rights normally accorded a criminal defendant. They want to paint an impeachment investigation, and any resulting articles forwarded to the Senate, as being bound by rules and procedures found in instances of criminal proceedings.
Dems should say fine, we’ll do it your way. Now, since we’re treating this as a criminal matter, we move to remove this list of Senators from the jury pool, as they’ve publicly made statements that are prima facie admissions of bias before they’ve even heard the evidence. Some are even declaring publicly they refuse to look at the evidence. We refuse to present our case to a tainted jury.
There, have your standard criminal procedures rule the day. Thank you.
Unbelievable that trump thought a presser alone would clear him of breaking the law. Maybe I’m too naive but to me it is bonehead obvious that if we have a law that clearly says No Foreign Influence in Our Elections (52 USC 30121) and a president demands such… that right there we have a criminal act. And reason to impeach and remove from office.

It’s more than just distancing, it’s PR. Barr is trying to establish a false narrative that he is independent of Trump. He is not. This story was leaked with full WH blessing, I’ll bet. Beware the low Barr.
