Trump Touts Intel Community He’s Long Besmirched In Bid To Defend Jan. 6 Charges - TPM – Talking Points Memo

Throughout the past seven years, Trump has cast the intelligence community as one of his main opponents.

So the fact that Russia helped Trump in 2016 by swaying public opinion via lies and distortions on social and other media is proof that he unfairly lost due to stolen/phony ballots in 2020? How does that work?!

Edit: First? Here’s a pic from the airplane that has more solidity than T-rump’s arguments:

What he has requested has nothing to do with the charges on him. I’m not sure the judge will allow it. Dr. Wheeler has more on it:

This is just running interference, hoping to delay the trial, or have more ammunition for the appeal.

The Russia Russia Russia collaboration was much worse than the public knows. Russia knows. Your Republican representative knows.

We don’t.

So Trump has somehow found a large enough set of mobbed-up lawyers to create a Potemkin village of “important Constitutional issues” to gum up the Courts (either before or at trial, or in appeal) until he is dead.

What an indictment of our inherently creaky and inadequate Judiciary. There will be no justice conferred in this case, just endless frustration on the part of the Electorate who never bought in to Trump’s bullshit and would like to see some measure of accountability for a poseur who has been hellbent from the beginning to make a mockery of our Democracy.

We are pathetic, really, for allowing this crap to go on for as long as it already has.

Trump to the judge: My conspiracy with Putin to corrupt the 2016 election, which up to one minute ago I have been denying ever occurred, is proof that elections are corruptible, and that, in turn, proves that my claims of fraud in 2020 were sincere and reasonable.

First I think, as horrible as he is, the guy has serious brass balls, then I realize, nah, he’s just an ageing narcissist with tons of brain worms.

What’s the Latin version of the legal judgment “Are you outta your fucking mind”?

Da. Oops, that’s the Russian answer.

You can’t blame me for trashing America’s faith in our elections when my allies had already trashed that faith.

And Putin would like Trump’s help to find out how much we do know.

Since Hugo Chavez was dead he is also going to need to the Vatican’s records concerning how demons from hell diminished the public’s trust in the 2020 election.

On second thought he might already have that from his sources at Fox News.

Trump: “There was - what’s that word - oh yeah…Russian collusion in the 2016 election. And that’s why I should be found not guilty for my fraud in 2020.”

ETA: @tmulcaire beat me with the same well-reasoned argument, proving that Trump is innocent. Witch Hunt!

Putin taught me all I know about undermining U.S. elections, so it’s not really my fault.

He twist things to whatever he believes will help him at any given moment. Blowing in the wind. There is no truth in this guy.

I may have just read in the past two weeks that there are two Ukrainian individuals that have been formally arrested on treason charges (being connected to Putin and his agencies) who were the individuals that Giuliani met on his trip there prior to the last election in order to dig up dirt on Biden and his son. It could be that I am totally mistaken about this, but it seems to me to out in the press. So now Trump is trying the ultimate con game with stupid people (I used to say uninformed, but I’m using the new label now) to change the narrative? Should we be expecting something on this front soon?

Trump is the cause, not a symptom. Time to pay the piper…

“He just said it’s not Russia,” Trump said, alongside the Russian leader. “I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

“I thought that I made myself very clear, but having just reviewed the transcript, I realized that there is a need for some clarification. The sentence should have been ‘I don’t see any reason why it WOULDN’T be Russia.’”
