Which is a powerful piece of prose. I wish recordings had existed, to hear it from Douglass himself. Anyone who hasn’t read it, you should.

The event at Mt. Rushmore was overshadowed by Guilfoyle’s covid infection, Hamilton and just the fact that it’s wholly inappropriate. This one will be no better. He cut an ad based on that event similar to the one he did after last year’s 4th of July photo op event. He cut an ad for the photo op at the church after gassing, beating and shooting at protesters. That’s all this is about. It’s for photo ops to use in ads. He doesn’t care if people get sick and die.

Not much there to counter the idea that Trump is purposefully enabling the spread of the virus. It reeks of intentional. It may suit his ego and sense of the survival of the fittest, but it also smacks of Bannon and Miller. Using their supporters as a way of imposing the virus on people elsewhere unwillingly is not that much of a stretch.

This is just more of Trump’s “Hay, Look over there!!!” tactic for deflecting attention from his major failures with the pandemic and the economy.
Since he is incapable of responsible leadership and hasn’t a clue how to govern (well, neither does he evidently feel any responsibility to do so), this is all he has left. From now on, it’s all going to be distraction and B.S.
