This story could have been told—and should have been told—by focusing on Biden and his continuing rise in polling against Trump.
I do not know why Josh is so biased against Biden, but it is not a hidden feature of this site.

This would be the largest lead in a credible Presidential poll since Clinton over Dole in 1996. Definitely bigger news that “Trump having a tantrum” which basically means today is a day ending in “y”.

If this were a normal year and a normal (but bad) president, I would be screaming for Joe to just go home and shut up until November. Sadly he doesn’t have that luxury. The country needs a leader, even if he doesn’t have the power of the office. Please be careful Joe, the country genuinely NEEDS you RIGHT NOW.

But it’s possible that these predictions did something else harmful. Three researchers dove into the numbers to see if it was possible that such forecasting had ultimately inflated potential Democratic voters’ confidence to the point it depressed voter turnout.

It’s not bias against Biden, who Josh openly supported based on polling saying Joe was most likely to beat Trump. It’s trainwreck reporting, pointing and laughing as the easiest way to cover the news.
I’m no more immune to that tendency than anyone else, but I wish they would try harder. TPM has spawned a number of really good reporters, but overestimating the newsworthiness of Trump farting on Twitter is way too common these days.
