Sanctions are for wimps. You need to step up bigly on this one. I mean, if you let them tell our troops they can’t stay, you’ll become a “quasi-ally of Iran.” At least, that’s what Pompeo is saying. Maybe you should invade Iraq. It worked out so well for us last time. And this time you can keep the oil, right?
When we invaded Iraq we were told we would be welcomed as liberators (one of Donald Rumsfeld’s many lies), and now we are pretty much moving into hostile occupier territory. Putin’s plan is working out perfectly.

I do not think these are mutually exclusive possibilities. “Monster,” as a pejorative term, certainly applies to anyone caught defending war crimes before the fact. Doomed is how I see their career when this administration has run out of defenders.

Taking a few steps back to try to see the whole picture … an am imagining that a logical neutral international court would find it to be a stalemate if some secret Iranian agents blew AF-one w/ Trump aboard clean out of the sky … and used Trump’s impending peril justification.
Then what? Then a Democrat comes into office and has to deal with all of it. A la Obama. While the right wing starts up their screeching, which is what they really want to do anyways since governing is obviously too hard.

Trump told reporters that the U.S. would ignore Iraq’s calls for removal due to the “extraordinarily expensive air base that’s there.”
So, we will violate the Geneva Conventions, and open the US to international condemnation and UN Sanctions (which the US will use it’s UN veto power to kill) all so tiny-dick can swagger for a while?
Why hasn’t Cheatolini demanded that Vietnam pay us for Cam Ran Bay? (one of the largest naval bases in the world) or demanded that the Philippines “pay us back” for the massive naval base at Subic Bay we abandoned there when they asked us to leave?
As usual, the Orange ShitGibbon and his Marching Morons has made everything WORSE with his petty, petulant actions.
The MSM is, of course drooling over the prospect of a WAR PROFITS in their advertising departments (and the prospect of so many 2nd-level reporters “making” their careers during it) so they are beating the War Drums as hard as possible.

The only people who can actually do something about removing him are the Republicans in the Senate, and they’re not budging. Do you think they care that liberals are demonstrating in the streets? Of course not. All they care about is that the billionaires keep the donations flowing, and that the rabid base is energized.
I marched in the anti-war protests in the Vietnam era. I’d like to think that when millions of Americans peacefully show opposition, politicians listen. Maybe that used to be the case, but bottomless dark money has corrupted our system deeply and permanently. Today’s Republican party is not listening. They really don’t care how long and loud we protest. Voting them out is the only thing that matters.

The marriage was nothing but a couple of decades of strife, and after a nasty argument in which the husband struck the wife and the wife threw the husband out of the house and sought a divorce, the husband threatened to bleed her dry through legal proceedings if she didn’t return the engagement ring.
Meanwhile, the husband struck his mistress and told her he’d kill one of her children if she hit back.
