Peace to you and yours.
Safe travels my friend
Enjoy your trip, the scenery; forget about morgoth, and lavish attention on your daughter. She is far more deserving!
That’s right, because there’s no room between the extremes of ‘NOBODY’S DOING NOTHING!!!’ and ‘they’ve played this perfectly’. With strawmen like those, how could anyone possibly be feeling despair and overwhelmed?
I think you are being very, very unfair to Alligator mississippiensis as a species, and to Reptilia as a class, or clade, or whatever the Hell they are these days.
You constantly accuse me, and others, of dumping on Democrats. I write voluminously on the difference between the two poles. I never say “they’re just one uniparty” or claim our goals are wrong. I don’t claim that we are full of corruption, or wolves in sheep’s clothing. I have never voted for an R and I never will.
I advocate for a better (and realistic) strategy and political dynamic and especially…to be real and honest about how elections are won. #1 rule is to get a majority of people to vote for you. It’s not about being pure, or right, or fair, or just, or servicing this group or that group or worrying about stepping on a few toes.
Your ‘dumping on Democrats’ is getting real tiresome and is so lame. Have you ever led a group? Coached a team that was in an actual contest? Continual improvement, being honest about actual capabilities and shortcomings, and motivation are essential. Not chiding and moralizing and scolding and purity.
Anybody in charge of a team or army or organization SHOULD be fired for repeatedly using all of the resources available with ZERO results. 9 years of flailing and futility against the Chump armor is the proof.
ETA: eventually you have to LEARN and change tactics. Not chiding and scolding while pushing the same old same old.

Have you ever led a group?
Yes, in fact, I was head of two different departments of an organization with over 10,000 members. During that time, we went from ‘completely fucked’ to running smoothly and strong by the time I left1. And I agree with ‘continual improvement, being honest about actual capabilities and shortcomings, and motivation’ being essential. I also agree that scolding isn’t.
So tell me what this is:

we NEVER made a coordinated effort to crucify regular elected Rs?
How’s that being honest about our actual capabilities, when clearly, we did get rid of the ones we could, where we could? How is pivoting from that to ’

You are right, they’ve played this all perfectly. I’ll just sit back and watch the master plan unfold
not scolding?

Anybody in charge of a team or army or organization SHOULD be fired for repeatedly using all of the resources available with ZERO results.
The system is designed to avoid results. We got 2 Impeachments in under 2 years, but 66 votes required to convict means that there’s not much you can do when the other guys aren’t acting in good faith.

ETA: eventually you have to LEARN and change tactics. Not chiding and scolding while pushing the same old same old.
And yet, you’re the one who keeps telling me ‘oh, we have to keep trying for the white male voter’ when Jasmine Crockett calls the pissants harping on her ‘mediocre white boys’—which they obviously are. You keep saying we need to not rock the boat. You’re the one who insisted we need to rely on Gavin Newsom, milquetoast extraordinaire, instead of looking for someone who’s the real deal.
Make up your damned mind.
1. I’m not saying that was all my doing. I was part of a leadership team that included a number of very driven, very intelligent people, with the CEO running the whole thing living by a simple concept: Know what you don’t know, find the people who do know it, and listen to them. We worked hard, every day, to not just educate our people, and give them the motivation to thrive, but to give them the tools to do it, too, to empower them and then get the hell out of the way. Leadership’s most important duty is to make sure they’re not needed, by preparing the next generation to step up when the time comes.
No, we have to stop scolding and using deragatory terms when speaking to 60%+ of the electorate. Stop aiming for only 49% of the electorate.
You are aware that black and brown and female populations are rife with mediocrities also?
Looking for someone who’s the real deal? Have you seen anyone effectively able to stride to the fore and defeat Chump? I’ve waited 9 years. You got anybody better than Newsom? Is there any reason we shouldn’t support ANYONE who is being effective? Doesn’t mean they need to be coronated or handed the Nom. No, you’d rather stick a knife in his back and keep searching.
And, we don’t need someone who can beat Chump, we need a lot of people who can destroy the far-lesser beings…the elected Rs.
If it’s that big, it should be able to take Mar-a-Lago along for the ride.

I think I see who you really hate. And you really don’t want to give that up. It is understandable. It’s too bad that white people make up 60%+ of our population and that men make up roughly 50%. Puts you in a bad spot, but reality is reality.

Taking off for Seattle to visit No. 1 Daughter (in sequence , not love). Will be in and out as I travel through the RubeSpace of Northern Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Eastern Oregon, and Eastern Washington. Should arrive in the Land of Good Coffee by the weekend.
Have a safe trip! You’re arriving at the best part of the year for weather up there. Daytime temps in the low 70’s, nights low 50’s, sunny or partly cloudy every day.

You are aware that black and brown and female people are rife with mediocrities also?
I’m aware that, shockingly, most people are, in fact, mediocre. That’s kind of the nature of any term that describes ‘average’ or ‘normal’. But the people Crockett was talking about were specifically the ones coming at her. It’s like if I’m coaching a baseball team and I say about a member of the other team, ‘that guy’s got no curveball’, I’m not talking about anyone but that guy.
Meanwhile, you’re here fretting about whether or not their outfield is going to be offended by that.
The people who are going to be offended by Crockett snapping back at the people coming at her were going to be offended by her, no matter what she said, because they’re looking for reasons to be offended by the scary black woman.
You’re not going to win them. We’ve tried. We’ve tried running Repub-lite candidates for decades. It never works. The people who are winnable don’t want to be pandered to, they want confidence, and someone who demonstrates they’re willing to fight for what they believe in.
You talk about ‘eventually you have to LEARN and change tactics. Not chiding and scolding while pushing the same old same old’ while doing exactly that: pushing the same old same old.’ So why keep pushing for ‘same old same old’ of trying to court white voters with old white men who don’t put their money where their mouths are?
You advocate for a better (and realistic) strategy, and that we should get ‘left on policy’ and ‘left on age’, but you consistently argue for politicians who aren’t those things, and whose campaigns aren’t those things. The people you bitch about, the Jasmine Crocketts, are exactly what you say we should be doing…except for how we don’t dare do what they do, because we mustn’t offend people.
Well, there’s your ‘new strategy’ of being ‘left on policy’: Fight for what’s right, and talk to the American people about why it’s right. Confidence and passion make a huge difference with a lot of voters.

I think I see who you really hate.
Literally the entire fucking worthless species, why?
I literally posted a Thumbs Up for Crocket on this very thread
Yes, can we please now (after 10 years) start holding R MoC accountable instead of each Dem with a mic trying to take on Chump only? [image]
She was holding certain R congresspeople accountable, and that is exactly what we need to be saying in those districts, to those voters. Not lobbing more shells down the Chump black hole.
I can’t make a whole lotta sense out of your last post.
Here is a summary of what I want to see, regardless of how you want to research every word I have posted and make your own summary.
Appeal to the widest spectrum of voters possible.
Quit closing off parts of that spectrum by constantly savaging them with terms like racist, feminist, fascist, pasty, frail, fragile, pink, aggrieved, incel and finding new ways to slime men by adding -bro. I think that is fine here on a forum…but that stuff is neck-deep out on the Social Media and coming out of our biggest influencers.
Go after Rs wherever they are, and attack Chump THROUGH them…by proxy…instead of wasting another year’s allotment of ammo on him alone. When you’ve seen 100% of your Sherman shells bounce off the front of the Panzers you MUST change tactics.
Campaigns need to be aspirational and attractive/appealing. Not downers constantly criticizing ‘society’, ‘culture’, the U.S., and leading with nasty criticisms and scolding the vast majority of possible voters for not being better people.
Again, I agree with most of the criticisms. I agree with quite a lot of the nasty names and join in here on a paywalled forum. But that can’t be how we appeal to enough voters to matter. We barely even try to reach out to 49%- of the electorate and if any of them whisper one word we don’t like we immediately throw a shit fit and excommunicate them too.

Quit closing off parts of that spectrum by constantly savaging them with terms like racist,
What if they are racists?
You go to elections with the electorate you have.
White people aren’t the only kind of racists.
I am in the minority on this forum, but I don’t believe race is motivating all of the R voters or wishy-washy independents. I know it is motivating a certain core of the R-sphere but calling them all racists…again and again and again for decades has lost us elections.
What would you call Hispanics who voted R in great numbers?

You go to elections with the electorate you have.
My motherfucking tent is not that big.
Curious though that you interpreted my saying racist as being only picking on white people.
Oh really. And what else might you have meant?
And what, you’ll glady take any black or brown votes regardless if they’re racists or not?
You said we shouldn’t point out when people are racist because it makes their feelings hurt. I asked what happens if they actually are racist and you said well we’ll just have to put up with that. I disagree. We’re done.
