Trump Thinks Everybody’s Called A Racist Now

Everybody’s doing it.

President Trump is unmoved by claims that his recent tweets and rhetoric about congressmen and women of color are racist because “everybody’s called a racist now.”

Trump’s been hit as a racist for decades — from the infamous Central Park Five newspaper ad

No. Ill Douche has been racist since long before that.

Trump also claimed that Democrats use the word when they’ve run out of things to criticize.

“They use it almost when they run out of things to criticize you — they say, ‘He’s a racist.

But you keep on inventing new things to criticize you over. You are a font of perfidies, odious remarks and unspeakable acts. This is what you do and are justly criticized for. A racist is who you are.

Exactly. He and his father settled a housing case years before in which it was alleged they discriminated on the basis of race. And you know that attitude didn’t just jump out of thin air for him. His dear father, at a minimum, taught him bigotry. And while many in their generation had similar views, many of those in Trump’s generation outgrew racist views after WWII and especially after the civil rights movement. Trump, as we see repeatedly, has absolutely no ability to grow or learn. Once a racist, always a racist - and proud of it.

I can see how he gets confused, when you surround yourself with racists and people who won’t disagree with your racist ranting, then yes everyone you know is a racist.

Let us also remember that one of his few remaining capacities–honed by decades of narcissism, reinforcement, bubble-life, and huckstering WWE/reality-TV experience–is the capacity to say, in baby-talk simple language, exactly what his rabid base feels. Just imagine some stereotypical white working-class non-urban middle-aged male (and/or a suburban white middle-aged guy with a nice house) saying “Everybody gets called racist now! They say it when they run out of things to criticize me with! Nancy Pelosi is the REAL racist!”

Any words out of his mouth, imagine they’re coming from his rabid base–100% consistent.

That’s why he has that base.

What nugget of wisdom did he gift us with the other day? He’s not lying because people agree with him?!

OK Donnie…spitting and flailing and drooling and screaming RACIST! I’m not the RACIST! YOU’RE the RACIST! does not ‘mean’ that everyone is called a ‘racist’ now. That’s just you one more time trying to deflect from the fact that you are a total POS. Not working.

More accurate to say that when Trump runs out of ways to defend his administrations actions, he resorts to making racist remarks.

In fairness to the Racist Trumpf family, IIRC they had the applications submitted by African Americans labeled with a “C” and not an “N”.

I’m the least racist person there is in the world, as far as I’m concerned.”

The word is so overused, it’s such a disgrace.

“I can tell you this, I’m the least racist person there is in the world, as far as I’m concerned.”

NPD kicking in. Absolutely no self awareness. In The World. Like the World Champ of Not A Racist.

No Donnie, only racists are called racists.

Just like I always call you a lying, immoral, grifting asshole.

I have just started to look for articles that I can find on him from a much earlier time. When he started popping up in the 70s, I was struck by how closely he resembles himself in rhetoric and tone today compared to a much earlier point his his life. You are right, no growth or wisdom. There are differences of course, but you can hear the foundation loud and clear.

This is somewhat revealing in the strategy that the GOP likes to employ.

When confronted with a racist comment or decision, they call the people that confront them “the racist”. Therefore, since “everyone” has been called a racist, then all is “even” and it is all “ok”.

A simple way to “white wash” the events in their minds.

It might be a tractable computer science project to build a Trump Response Generator which was indistinguishable from the real article. Any normal human would answer “are you a racist?” with a response that was context-aware and audience-aware and a variety of other very big (and strong) things. Trump just… does the Trumpy thing. Most X and Huge Y and Also Me. Every time. He’s automated.

Yes! I’ve started to listen to everything he says through two filters- NPD and as @dr_coyote points out, his effective finely-tuned messages to his base.
