Reminds me of that Fireside chat in 1943 where FDR urged owners of major-league baseball teams to lobby for tax credits. You remember, it was the one where he said WWII would be over by opening day in 1944, and when asked how he knew that, said thought that would be a “beautiful day” for the war to be over.
