Instead of paying for stuff, cut taxes. Straight Republican playbook.

Of course, very few people will have money for non essential items like tickets.

This is, needless to say, all about him.

Easter in September.

Pretend this never happened.

Trump reportedly also suggested to the commissioners that they gang up to lobby for tax credits including deducting concessions and tickets from taxes.

WTF??

That’s not only insane, but it tells me that he is sunk. He is too delusional to successfully fight us.

That’s four months from now.

He also suggested that the Breeder’s Cup commissioner should resign and be replaced by a horse.

See, when you give corporations and rich people deductions for the money they spend entertaining each other, entertainment businesses get more revenue. It’s the same happy bullshit he was peddling last week about restaurants.

Reminds me of that Fireside chat in 1943 where FDR urged owners of major-league baseball teams to lobby for tax credits. You remember, it was the one where he said WWII would be over by opening day in 1944, and when asked how he knew that, said thought that would be a “beautiful day” for the war to be over.

There’s a difference though

In an hour-long conference call with team owners earlier on Tuesday, there was no discussion about shortening the season or changing the structure of the season, Pash said, although Troy Vincent, the league’s executive vice president of football operations, told reporters the league is also “looking at all options” and “constantly contingency planning.”
