Trump and his project 2025 coup are purging the military of minorities, women or anyone who might oppose the permanent white Christian conservative takeover of America. Trump and the radical right have no intention of sharing the levers of wealth and power with the majority.
This purge aims to remove anyone that might be inclined to save us.
The expressions – or lack thereof – on the faces of those senior officers was priceless.
One can only imagine what they think of rump and hegseth.

Last night after the Hegseth and Trump presentations, Lawrence O’Donnell focused on Trump’s apparent diminished mental and physical state. It seemed obvious to me that he wasn’t well in any sense of the word. Weak voice. Rambled. Couldn’t remember what he wanted to say halfway through sentences. And clearly totally unaware of the culture of the military. Didn’t seem to realize he wasn’t the MC of a TV show.

Seriously - this is off the rails - this is not just a ridiculous inappropriate hyperbolic statement to the leaders of the military.
It is the giant screaming “bat signal” to the right-wing lunatic paramilitary wannabe militias - the “stand down & stand by” crowd …the fringe that is chomping at the bit to just go total annihilation on urban areas, minorities, perceived liberals, gays, non-Christians … non- right kind of Christians … justunleash a vengeance orgasm!
We all know - this was also messaging to the “Proud Boys” and their ilk!
Oh - and “Prepare for War” from these idiots is understood to mean Prepare to kill … it does not mean Prepare to cut grass, clean streets, teach school, staff hospitals, rebuild storm damage.

About what? I mean, c’mon. No one is more determined to read the tea leaves and do less than a Democrat. If you’re right and they are “talking quietly” they’re doubling down on precedent and their oath, so no matter how fucking batshit Fat Donnie and Drunky Brewster may be, they’re not going to do a fucking thing to stop it. The most they would do is to drag their feet if given an illegal order, but no one is going to openly defy the president, that sets a far worse precedent than simply being passive aggressive toward illegal orders. And sure as fuck no one in the chain of command is going to join any effort to remove him. Everyone on the left has been huffing the fairy dust for 11 years now, there’s always another savior coming to our rescue. Sorry, but no. No one is coming to save us. You want saving? Harass your elected representatives. Chain yourself to an ICE facility. Take firearms training if you’re that concerned. But jesus christ stop looking for saviors. No one is coming.
It’s certainly the kind of thing ammosexual MAGAts like to hear, but they’re not a reliable army for Trump. Too busy playing videogames and binge watching Netflix to get their fat assess off the couch, and out into the streets to cause mayhem.
They had one shining moment during the 1/6 insurrection when there was a nearby target at the Capitol they could attack as a group, and what happened? They turned tail and ran, the minute a single member of their group was shot and killed by the capitol police. Cowards when it comes to actually putting their own asses on the line, instead of online military cosplay.
So I think the military establishment was what Trump was trying to rile up with that speech, and it didn’t work. The visible non-response from the Generals and Admirals – the silence during the speech and refusing to applaud Trump as he entered and left – spoke volumes.

I must say, hard to game out the end when the party in power that owns all three branches of government declares war, at least figuratively, on its own country.
I can only surmise they think they do not have enough power. And some people wonder why I call them fascists.
