President Donald Trump indicated early Saturday that he will quickly move to nominate a replacement to the Supreme Court bench, hours after the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday.
He’ll move on it like a bitch. But maybe he won’t get there.

I.e. he sees himself as the president of people who elected him and not of all Americans, which includes legal residents who are not citizens. Nothing new here, of course, but it’s worth calling out every time he says this. He’s not a constitutional president in terms of the spirit of the constitution. Not one in the literal sense either, of course. Not one in any sense, including how he stole the election and has been governing. Totally corrupt and illegitimate president in literally every sense of the word except the official certification and swearing-in. But you can certify and swear in a bucket of KFC, doesn’t make it legit.
That said, Dems must use this against him and GOP senators. He’s just made their job easier.
Not sure how nominating a pro-life justice who’d overturn Roe personally benefits Trump.

I agree. Trump’s motive is to generate votes and improve his chances for re-election. However, the GOP is envisioning their ability to finally repeal the ACA, further gut voting rights, promote the ability of religious groups to discriminate against anyone, etc. At this point, my only hope is that Trump nominates someone so extreme or questionable that a few in the GOP are hesitant to vote for him/her.
It’s 2020. Trump should nominate himself. Let’s go full on crazy. Just aim for the fences.
