Trump Stands By Giuliani | Talking Points Memo

President Trump isn’t exactly known for his loyalty. But for now, he’s standing by his man.

The President defended his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani Friday even as investigations into his associates heat up.

“He’s been a great crime fighter. He looks for corruption wherever he goes.”

Swoon!

“He was the greatest mayor in the history of New York and he’s been one of the greatest crime fighters and corruption fighters,” Trump said. “Rudy Giuliani is a good man.”

OK, I draw the line at “man.”

“Trump Stands By Giuliani As Investigations Into His Associates Ramp Up.”

Fun Fact: “Rudy” is the Sicilian word for “anvil”.

(Bear hug him, Donald, bear hug him!)

I’m sure Rudy must have a lot of dirt on Donald, so Donald’s got to stand behind him.

“I don’t think so, because I think Rudy is a great gentleman,” Trump told reporters. “He’s been a great crime fighter. He looks for corruption wherever he goes.”

Trump continued, arguing that “everybody understands Ukraine has big problems in that regard” and reiterating that Giuliani is a “fine man.”

Listening to Clinton and Obama speak at Cummings’ funeral, compared to this lying, orange, narcissistic liar…

Thank god he chose not to impose himself on the funeral celebrations. Although I doubt he was invited.

" He looks for corruption wherever he goes.” is such a classic straight line that there should be an internet competition for the best punch line to go with it. But maybe it’s a straight line/punch line combo with no additional comment needed…

Gentleman…Rudy? Seriously? Has Trump even seen any of Rudy’s deranged rantings on the television? I’m certain he’s aware of Rudy rubbing elbows with mafiosos, as it was probably done at his request. How is Rudy a gentleman? Did he once take his hat off indoors without being asked?

Oh well, at least he didn’t call Rudy a scholar.

“Rudy…come meet me in the desert…alone…now.”

in Ray Liotta voice “That’s when I knew. That’s when I knew he’d wack me and I wasn’t coming home.”

Trump always pulls them close just before the shove off of the cliff.

It’s good that there is not much play on this thread.

I means that Trump’s games are long, long past obsolescence

In Trump’s mind, “gentleman,” means consigliere.

Being a great “crime fighter” means Rudy has tons of dirt on Trump.
