Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire was still considered a frontrunner to take the post in a permanent capacity until last week — when President Donald Trump found out that Maguire’s staff had briefed House lawmakers that Russia is interfering in the 2020 election on Trump’s behalf.
He can’t handle the truth.
He will not have people in his administration telling the truth. Not to Congress, not to the American people, not to their family members or neighbors. They especially must not tell the truth when it contradicts his lies … which the truth pretty much always will do.
How’s that lesson learning going, Senator Collins?

Members of both parties on the committee were in attendance at the briefing a week ago, and Trump’s allies argued with the conclusions Pierson presented, insisting that Trump has gotten tougher on Russia.
The problem for both the Russians and Trump for 2020 is that Wikileaks and Assange are now out of commission for use in the campaign. Of course Facebook is open for business.

Apparently, deference to one’s oath of office, or patriotic feelings, generally, disqualify applicants from service in this administration.

Doubtless, the members of one of those parties provided the White House with a near contemporary, blow by blow account of, both, what was reported and how the briefing staff seemed to feel about it.
