President Donald Trump called NBC journalist Peter Alexander a “terrible reporter” asking a “very nasty question” at a press conference Friday after Alexander prompted him to give a message to Americans scared by the rapid spread of the coronavirus.
So while listening to this Trump conference something struck me, while acting heads of agencies spoke, when VP Pence spoke, pretty much everyone who wasn’t Trump when speaking referred at every other sentence how “the President” did this, showed leadership here, and by they way parted the Gulf of Mexico and one of the Great Lakes. They all used “the President”, not President Trump. So is there a shadow President that’s running things, or are they giving due where no due is do?
I simply can’t stand listening to or watching ANY of them. So I really appreciate both TPM and the commenters here who have become the filter through which I can deal with their BS!
Also, it was an opportunity for him to calm a worried nation, show empathy, stop self congratulating. He is so damaged and so unfit, he did not see this as a moment to be presidential. He only saw it as an attack. I am worried for all of us.
I was out on my walk. It was cold and windy. I can’t tell you how many time I had to mute my radio during my 2.5 mile walk. The only thing that cheered me up was that it was an 18 deer day. (that’s a hell of lot of deer in one walk)
I’m doing the same. When I’m online, and I see the soundless video, I just ignore it, unless Fauci is speaking. But Trump wants to keep the mic and have the camera on himself, so I’ll get my information second-hand.
I see Trump’s approvals in one poll are going up - I’m surprised he didn’t open with that. That said, at least now Trump is at least pretending to give a shit - perhaps the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life.
