The company, which is suing Wiley for a “nominal” $1 in damages plus legal fees, said that it took action after Wiley filed a trademark application in September to use the brand Pattie Gonia to sell clothing and promote environmental activism, which it claims would “irreparably harm” its brand.
“While we wish we didn’t have to do this – and actively engaged with Pattie for several years to avoid this – it has become necessary to protect the brand we have spent the last 50 years building,” the company said in January.

I can believe this. Though you’d think a man getting his ass kicked in one war he started would be a little hesitant to start another one, a desperate man will do desperate things. I think this reflects his weakness more than strength - it’s an attempt to hold on to power in Russia - though he’s also doing this to break the NATO alliance. Because we know Trump will stand aside as he identifies with Putin.

The DOJ is zeroing in on conduct that even if true (and it’s not) is rarely if ever prosecuted, federally or otherwise: [allleged] perjury [by E. Jean Carroll] in a civil deposition.
