Trump Shifts Attack On Mail-In Voting Away From USPS, Now Blames Election Officials | Talking Points Memo

President Donald Trump is reformulating his attack on mail-in voting — shifting focus away from the U.S. Postal Service and instead claiming that it is local elections officials who tally the mailed ballots results who are “going to count them wrong.”

Wow. That attack on the Post Office must not be polling well. Let’s attack those retirees who spend the day checking IDs and handing out ballots instead.

This is Trump’s version of the old Joseph Stalin statement when told that many would be voting against him:

“It’s not important who votes. It’s only important who COUNTS the votes.”

Which explains why Stalin was always re-elected with 95+% of the vote.
Same thing with Kim Jon Un, Putin, and all other Dictators who hold sham elections.

Next, he’ll be blaming the voters for not voting for him?

Hope so…

That I believe, we had a case of that last election here in Georgia, that is why we have a Republican governor, and in the previous election because a technical issue they lost all data just before it was going to be audited.

Another quick shift on a subject. For me, that says he is not doing well at all. Maybe far worse than we think at the moment. He is looking for something to stick and it is not happening.

Up next, the claim that voting in person allows a person to experience the purity of filtered, voting location air and making correct choices. As opposed to the miasmic air around a persons dining table or easy chair, muddying the mind and leading them to liberal, marxist, socialist decisions.

I’m surprised he isn’t pushing for all-electronic, online voting. No audit trail. A hacker’s dream - I’m sure the Russians could help out with the conduct of the election.

It is entirely true that there is a vast conspiracy to vote his dumb ass out of office.

Trump will invent lies whenever he can. Daily.

He’s going to have to do a lot better. Only the most slow-witted of voters will believe that there’s a difference between tallying paper ballots that were dropped into a box inside a polling place, and tallying paper ballots that were dropped into a box outside a polling place. And Trump already has the “slow-witted” demographic sewn up.

Several States have already denied him the ballot, so that won’t be a problem (Ohio and Wisconsin, at minimum).

I work for my County Board of Elections. How DARE he imply we do our jobs poorly? We work in bipartisan teams, and we take enormous pride in what we do. What a dick

Give it a few days. When it turns out blaming the election officials instead of the USPS isn’t working for him, either, Fat Ass will start blaming Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton’s emails.

And a million new “lucky duckies” (H/T: Atrios at eschaton.com) join the ranks of the unemployed during this historic era of Trump-O-Nomics!

Prosperity is just around the coroner!

Of course Trump is terrified of voting by mail. It creates a paper trail that can be audited post-election, it means that voters are requesting ballots early and will be told weeks prior to the election if they were dropped unexpectedly from the eligible voter rolls, and it locks in votes that can’t be changed due to any late-breaking October surprise.

This completely upends all of the plans that the Trump campaign is expecting foreign actors to execute (Russia, of course, with Turkey and Saudi Arabia new players for 2020). Hacking computerized voter databases to cancel the registrations of likely non-Trump voters in key states; disabling computerized voting machines by virus or head-on LOS denial attacks on election day to cause chaos and long lines; and whatever manufactured dirt they were planning on releasing about Joe Biden in the week prior to Election Day.

It also means that the Trump campaign’s plans to post goons outside of non-Trump leaning election precincts to intimidate voters will be less effective.

Won’t count them correctly. Yeah, that’s the ticket!
