@garrybee… Like people … dogs are on a continuum of intelligence. Some dumb some intelligent. I was blessed with a hound who taught me more than i taught her. She was only rarely impulsive. Dogs smell first and ask questions later typically. Not Murphy. As I said I trusted her. As a pup she once fell out my truck window. For the rest of her life she never stuck her head out again. I trusted her off leash on our neighborhood ambles and at our Ace Hardware store. In fact tge employees kept a picture of her so newbies would know her. And she was welcome in our grocery store.
