Trump Shatters Glass Ceiling Of Indictments For Presidents

His fear of going to jail drives him to take a plea, while his mental illness refuses to back down. Great drama. Pass the popcorn, please.

This defense is going to get really tough to maintain when they announce the charges and there are multiple felonies among them. That’s one big problem his defenders are going to have. They don’t know what’s coming out of the Manhattan case or Fani Willis’ case or Jack Smith’s. Their vigorous defenses against each case may wind up looking completely stupid and irrelevant once we find out what is actually being charged against him.

They’re talking about his GOP primary poll numbers and they’re exactly right. A month ago, he was like 15 points ahead of DeathSantis. Now he’s twenty-something points ahead of him. MSNBC after 4:00 is liberal, but they’re not going to treat their audience like Fox does by lying to us or hiding inconvenient truths. I appreciate that.

Doubtful. Plea deals are for reducing a sentence when you’re sure of conviction and appeals won’t fly. Trump believes any conviction will be overturned on appeal, all the way up to SCOTUS if necessary. And if that doesn’t work, maybe DeSantis will pardon him when he’s elected to the WH. Or he’ll pardon himself if he reaches the WH again. So many options!

…so you do concede it would be entertaining. I agree.

Right, forgot about that. Well, maybe the current NY governor will pardon him to “heal the wounds in our country” or something. There is always an exit ramp in Trump’s reality distortion field.

Anyway, I can’t see him taking a plea deal of any kind. It’s an admission of wrongdoing, and he’s never done that in his miserable life.

Yes. And 4 out of 5 dentists recommend Dentyne for those who chew gum. The one outlier in both instances is that damned Gosar.

It’s hard to get someone to believe they are boxed in when they make up their own reality. In the meantime, tfg’s ego is sponging up attention and wanking cash from his not particularly bright base.

Because they tend to be the quiet, bookish librarian types who will pen strongly worded letters to the editor of their local newspapers, carefully culling footnotes to support their deeply thought out positions.

I kid. I kid.

Nah, they’re also saying that this might help him in the general by making non-Trumpie voters more sympathetic to them and antagonistic of Dems for allegedly persecuting the poor man. They’re obviously not pushing this as hard as Fox and most of their analysts aren’t saying this but it’s there. It’s just knee-jerk let’s put this out there because some viewers believe and want to hear it plus it helps us defend against accusations of liberal bias nonsense with no basis in reality.

Thankfully none of their evening shows do this, but I’ve come across it here and there. I just can’t stand even entertaining ridiculous ideas just to seem fair and unbiased. Why not start asking whether evolution is real or if the earth is actually round, to be inclusive? These might be hyperbolic but I still see situations where they invoke discredited premises like how debt and deficits are invariably bad or SS is going broke. They can’t be responsible for what some guest pundits say but each show’s host (and their off-camera staff whose job it is to keep on top of such things) should correct or challenge such assertions.
