again, the great Trump Coronavirus handshake … hold up your left hand and form a C. now, hold your left arm out, palm up. move your elbow left to right
In a number of cases, this is the result of a hyper-compartmentalized distribution system. As for the crops, you have to have the skilled labor. You may want to ask ICE about that one…
Well, the Texas farmers must be doing it. What about those farm subsidies?
True. Conversely we see and hear of dozens of churches throughout the land packed with hundreds of parishioners, every weekend. They’re not too damned fearful of getting it, and they’ll need tested, tracked and possibly made to quarantine. And most of them will tell authorities to piss off on the entire process, Jesus is their only authority and he’s protecting them from the virus. And they will also be out and about the community at large when their state rolls back mitigation efforts, if they aren’t already.
So you are familiar with the NYC education system?
Again, who’s picking the fresh veggies I saw on the tables in Dallas?
The farmcrews who normally harvest it can’t make it into the US.
Can check your Uber Eats too. We’ve tried to eat out at the places we normally would, just had them deliverer with lots of success.
There is a lot of land mass out there. Do these counties have any people living in them?
CA is doing pretty well with mitigation, isn’t it?
TRump’s going to be so jacked on Adderall today he will be vibrating and emitting a low hum.
Those films scared the shit out of me and made me such a backseat driver when I was 14 years old.
and @zenicetus
The crews that were preparing to come in for tomatoes, watermelon, etc can’t get into the country. And are returning home after having spent big bucks (for them) to get there
Who’s picking in Texas? There were tables of vegetables and miles of boxes and cars.
If it hinges on those workers who can’t get in, Stephen Miller is going to be really mad if they get to cross the border.
I’m sure immigrants are just like they are in California. Undocumented immigrants in unsafe conditions.
Thanks, Darr, I’m kinda overwhelmed at the amount of time and energy we are wasting. AND, I’m wondering if I could make better use of my time by planting my Victory Garden. And starting supper. And, picking out the wine to serve with it. And going next door to cut my neighbor’s hair. She’s an ER Nurse, and she has gotten so much hair ripped out of her head with all the masking and shields, etc. And washing constantly, and showering two or three times a day. She cut it herself, and she’s got quite a ducktail down her neck in back. And hair salons and barber shops are all shut down.
Oh, oh, Game Time!
I remember in the early 70s my school brought in some guy to scare us straight about drugs. He regaled us with some harebrained tale about how he ran out of places to shoot up on his body and finally had to start doping in his eyes. 3 or 4 of us about fell out of our chairs in laughter before we left and got high.
“A cruel virus from a distant land has claimed American lives.”
Right off the bat.
