Former President Trump is reportedly set to endorse Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance, the once anti-Trump “Hillbilly Elegy” author who has almost cartoonishly tripped over himself to gain the former president’s approval in the past year, according to NBC News.
Wait until Vance starts to slide in the polls
Isn’t Vance at some terribly low number in recent R Primary polls? Like 7%?
Admittedly Mandel has ‘loser’ written all over him but what about the others? Does Trump expect them all to withdraw out of deference to him?

In picking candidates to endorse, Trump is returning to the mean of his business career. Most of his investments are embarrassing flops. He’s now looking to get wiped out in the primaries, which should take off some of what remains of his shine in the dazed eyes of MAGA-ites.
I think he’s at 11%. Mandel looks to be neck and neck with Gibbons though. Scary.
All I have to do is say ‘Trump Steak’ out loud and I begin to snicker.

Imagining that future circumstances will be different because of a rationally conceivable chain of causality is way, way beyond Trump’s capabilities. He endorsed Vance because Vance kissed his ass the most fervently. Period full stop.

I do not know if the U.S. Constitution was made to contain such men, given the possibilities of propaganda, demagoguery, vast riches** and indoctrination.
Being “rich” is exponentially greater in potential for massive harm than one might imagine, because of the tools such people possess.
I am not suggesting going against the Constitution. I am suggesting a need for more discipline and less selfishness, collectively and individually.
That’s why I’m surprised he didn’t pick Mandel who never had to walk back any anti-Trump statements. Mandel has been thoroughly MAGA from the beginning, but even Trump must see what an absolute ass clown he is. Knowing Trump, it probably came down to the fact that there’s a movie about Vance’s life and he’s kinda famous, so obviously he should be a senator.
Vance is odious so of course the MFWWNBN endorses him. All that’s left is to watch him lose.
