Trump Seems More Than A Little Mad At New York And California | Talking Points Memo

President Donald Trump spent the weekend spitting vitriol via Twitter at several Democrat-led areas of the country, including the city he used to call home.

Because they are successful without him, and don’t bow to him.

“So sad to see that New York City and State are falling apart,” Trump tweeted. “All they want to do is investigate to make me hate them even more than I should.”

So he’s sundowning at 3:40 in the afternoon now and saying the quiet parts out loud? This man need serious help. It’s not healthy for him, and definitely not for the country and for a large swath of Americans who he actively hates.

Nothing says “I shouldn’t be impeached because I never act like a gangster” more than threatening retaliation against the home states of the House majority and Senate minority leaders. Smooth move there, stable genius.

to make me hate them even more than I should

What is the appropriate level of hate a president should have for a US city and state?

Trump is playing to his cult. They love to hate on successful Democratic cities and states. Too bad for him it will be lost in the sewer of tweets he has birthed over the last week or so. Watching him reminds of Voldemort at the end of the Deathly Hallows movie, with pieces of him flying off until there is nothing left.

Donald Trump is Nicolae Ceausescu 2.0. Megalomaniac, nutty, dictatorial, tacky, and delusional.

I was out all day in the peaceful countryside, happy in the warm rain, and I come home to read this crap. F*ck you, Donald; you’re poisoning all of us.

A bunch of unhinged rants at people who are investigating him, followed by a sensible post of sympathy for an anti-semitic attack…one of these things is not like the others. My guess is that some staffer saw someone saying Trump was ranting and ignored the attack and slipped in a tweet making it seem like Trump cares about Jews. At this point, I really wonder if people are finally understanding who Trump is, and I wonder what it’s going to be like in October and November when he’s fighting to stay in office, or afterwards when he’s claiming that his election loss is just another hoax.

Hard to say because nobody in history has ever talked quite the way this individual talks. More and more he can’t pretend that he has a good reason for the things he does. If you oppose him you are bad, and not just bad, you’re the worst person or state or entity in history. He says this consistently, nearly uniformly. And he doesn’t bother saying why you’re bad. If you oppose him you are obviously bad with no explanation needed and anyone associated with you, like, say, living within the borders of a state you represent, will suffer the consequences of that badness because they’re vulnerable and he lives to make the vulnerable suffer. Other authoritarians have made this clear–oppose me and you will suffer–but usually not as unselfconsciously.

He probably was holding off until escrow closed.

So we’re actually supposed to believe the traitor cares about the homeless, I imagine. Right.

Not to mention that Pelosi has no say over the state of California nor SF, same with Schumer with New York or NYC. We also don’t hear him praising Kentucky or Louisville for McConnell or, oh wait Kevo McCarthy is also from CA, so where’s his rebuke?

I know. Just like “Trump attacks.”

He tried to get homeless vets, for Christ’s sake, chased away from in front of his building years ago. That’s how much he cares about the homeless.
