President Donald Trump repeatedly berated U.S. military leaders while throwing a massive fit during a Pentagon meeting in 2017, according to “A Very Stable Genius: Donald J. Trump’s Testing of America,” a book penned by Washington Post reporters Carol D. Leonnig and Philip Rucker.
On the one hand, I don’t mind that there’s someone in the White House that isn’t intimidated by a bunch of generals, and thinks that they’re more likely than not self-regarding idiots who failed upward in the chain of command.
On the other hand, it’s Donald Trump, who is a self-regarding idiot who failed upward into the Presidency.
And you wonder why the military just stayed quiet all this time…
Really, Trump has been horrible for the military, he’s abused it and treated it like a dictator would, as a prop to him instead of as the institution that protects our freedom. Soldiers always seem to lean towards Republicans, who always abuse them…maybe this is what it will take for them to realize the Democrats aren’t the “enemies of freedom” that Republicans try to portray them as.
“You’re all losers,” he told them. “You don’t know how to win anymore.”
Because it is just business. All that war-ring deserves a pay off. Wait till he puts his officers on commission because well they are commissioned. Isn’t that what it means? Say 2 percent of any spoils taken. Bounties on ears and other.
“I wouldn’t go to war with you people.”
Donny, if only you had served instead of taking deferments. Vietnam would have been done in weeks. Obviously letting you pass on serving was a mistake on the people’s part. If we had just not done that you would have had a parade and hailed as America’s greatest hero. So we apologize from holding you away from your just rewards. But mistakes sometimes can be fixed. Or at a minimum, ask your kids to serve so they can show the generals a thing or two.
Yet not a single one our “brave” and “honorable” generals resigned in protest and went denounced the madman in WH, they are either careerist hacks, or they actual Trumptards. Hate to say it but at least the birther officers were willing to suffer the consequences of what they believe, when they refused to obey orders from the president they considered illegitimate.
Trump is right in heaping scorn on the generals, their only loyalty is to the Military-Industrial Complex.
