I don’t think Trump thinks that strategically about these sort of things. He wants to take a dig at both, but he wants to take a dig at the woman more. So he calls Sanders a nasty guy, but says Warren is worse because she is lying to him. Because of course that’s how he views any such discussion.
Some tiny, tiny neuron might light up and remember that getting Sanders supporters riled up about “RIGGED” is good, but its a pretty random firing, and probably doesn’t happen until the tweet is complete. And even then…“might” is doing a lot of lifting in my statement.

Moreover, and I may be in the minority on this, I tend to believe that the statement Warren attributes to Bernie actually reflects Bernie’s thinking. Bernie is a nasty guy. There’s evidence that his campaign was given talking points trashing each of his main competitors on issues not central to their campaigns: Warren is an elitist; Biden voted for the Iraq war.
I remember several things about Bernie’s campaign against Hillary. First, he went after her on her speeches to the financial industry, implying without any evidence that she was saying things in private she didn’t say in public, and criticizing her for not releasing the texts of those speeches when they weren’t hers to release. Second, after it was clear Hillary had the votes to be the nominee, Bernie didn’t immediately withdraw and urge his followers to support her; on the contrary, he insisted on bringing his campaign to the convention and didn’t give her a full throated endorsement in his speech. Third, Bernie never gave his followers the “live blue or die” speech, that after the convention they either voted for Hillary and every other Democrat on the ballot or open the door for Trump. He never say that. It isn’t a mystery why, in Wisconsin for example, Hillary lost by 23,000 votes and Jill Stein got 31,000 votes. Those Stein voters were not disgruntled Republicans; they were Bernie supporters who thought they were cheated out of the nomination and Bernie never argued otherwise.
I think Bernie is fully capable of believing that a woman can’t be elected President.
