His latest attempt at a pivot is too late for any sane citizens. He cares about no one but himself. ETTD.

Two new words added to Trump’s vocabulary.

What we DO need to take from his “pivot” is that he has been told some VERY concerning data that he realizes will sorely impact HIM. Of course, that means it will also severely impact us, likely much more than a cosseted ass like donnie.

Anyone think Trump has ever pushed a grocery cart through a grocery store in his whole life?

He was a millionaire at age 8 or 9.

Ok good move. Next he should speak passionately to his supporters who are still on the hoax train. He has not done this at all. His response to the question about Nunes’ insane remarks on Fox News during yesterday’s press conference was anemic at best. George W Bush had to grow up on the job during 9/11. Trump is currently not showing any real sign that he ‘gets it.’

My local pet food store looked as though locusts had gone through. I’m in a designated isolation zone in CA, which started shut downs as of midnight, with little warning. I went out late to avoid the crowds, but I didn’t expect there to be so little left. I grabbed the last item of paper goods at the grocery - a small box of Kleenex. No TP, paper towels, napkins. No milk. Lots of basic produce gone. No pasta and scarce sauce. Etc., etc., etc.
Very weird experience; it felt like post war rationing, despite the fact that the store was going to be downloading a big shipment after closing.
If this is a matter of a month or two, things should be fine. If the virus takes hold, I wonder what happens to supply chains. There may not be a lot of cases or deaths right now, but the anxiety and insecurity of the last few years seems to be expressed in the move toward hoarding: people feel like they better get theirs now because the uncertainty we’ve been living with is now expanding exponentially at light speed.
Odd times.

Is there any wonder at all that people are panicking and buying up everything they can? People are scared and are getting a lot of mixed messages from the President (It’s no big deal.) and the media (Every one freak out!) so they do the only thing that seems rational and makes sense to them - which is to stock up and hunker down.

There’s no way the markets can hold that line. We are headed into a recession. No way around it.
