Trump’s ‘White Power’ Vid RT Stayed Up For Hours Because Aides Couldn’t Reach Him

Senior White House aides reportedly scrambled to convince President Donald Trump to take down his retweet of a video in which one of his supporters yelled “White power!” on Sunday.

Was he alone? Didn’t someone near him have one?

So you’re saying the President of the United States can just disappear for hours?? What if there were a terror attack?

He has literally quit the job.

This is not today’s lead story. It is only today’s lead distraction. He only did it to distract from Putingate.

(Can’t call it Bountygate unless the New Orleans Saints sell the rights.)

I think he finally realizes that he is totally irredeemable, and is going to take as many as he can down with him.

On so many levels, it’s too bad he didn’t just lose his phone. Oh, for one day without a Tweet…

Unlisted numbers? No reception? Ringers off? Out of power?

All of the above?

I’m sure there’s a perfectly ridiculous explanation.

I just hope we don’t have to wait for another tell-all book.

Was he out “hiking the Appalachian Trail”?

3 AM phone call, in the middle of the afternoon and he can’t be reached. Sad and pathetic just doesn’t convey the sentiment.

They could have asked his wife
She might know his whereabouts
… in order to make sure to avoid a chance encounter!

Seriously
My first thought
Did no one mention its a 7/24 job
I’m an essential employee and I answer my phone off hours. This was in the middle of the goddamn day
3 a.m. phone call …Sheeeeit, he can’t be there for 3 pm

Good thing the call wasn’t from Vlad!

Couldn’t be reached for three hours?

Damn, there have been times in the recent past when presidents have used the 25th to temporarily hand over to the VP because they were having conscious sedation for minor surgery, but that three hours was thought to be too long of an inability to discharge the powers and duties, so there had to be someone at the helm totally compos mentis.

Such wusses. Such wholly unnecessary concern that the presidency was such an irreplaceable part of the workings of the universe that the office could not go unfilled by a non-sedated person for even a few hours. Trump has shown us. The office has been vacant for three and a half years, and no one much noticed until about three years into it. The man isn’t compos mentis, so lack of phone contact with him is no problem for the noetic direction of the nation’s affairs.

Let Trump go back to golfing. Let us go back to having an actual govt at the federal level. We do need a lot of things in place for that govt to work, but a president isn’t one of them, so let’s go back to having a govt, but without a president.

Vlad does not “call” … he just speaks directly via the chip implanted in Trump’s head.

I am guess someone inside thinks this excuse is better than saying he refused to take it down at first. Then caved after the bad press.

It’s a shameless lie, of course.

Maybe he was pouting about something and refused to take the call or heed the advice?

Off topic, but can someone explain why TPM has such anemic coverage of the Russian bounty story, which to me is the leading story besides covid-19 right now. It looks like the only story is hidden behind the Prime paywall. Can’t compete with the NYT? Then just link to their articles at least. Enough about white power and Dump. You are falling for his tricks more and more.
